SEAT Sport UK*awarded 2nd* and 3rd* in BTCC amendment
We all know about this, but this the official press release just issued by SEAT.
Regardless of the situation, both the SEAT drivers drove well and, Plato & Huffy deserve the rewards. SEAT Sport UK drivers Jason Plato and Rob Huff have been elevated to 2nd* and 3rd* places in Round 9 of the Green Flag MSA British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), after the results of yesterday’s race were changed following a Stewards enquiry into an incident between *Anthony Reid and James Thompson. *The officials gave*Reid a 10 second penalty which drops him to 4th* behind the two SEAT Toledo Cupra drivers who had originally 3rd*and 4th. This means that both Plato and Huff have scored two podium results each (Jason: 1st**in Round 2 at Thruxton and 2nd**in Round 9 at Silverstone; Rob: 2nd**in Round 4 at Brands Hatch and 3rd**in Round 9 at Silverstone) and that SEAT Sport UK has scored points in all nine BTCC races run this year – a remarkable achievement on the team’s debut season. The results of Round 9 remain provisional, as Reid has the right to appeal. BTCC Round 9 - revised provisional race results 1. Tom Chilton….24:03.166 2. Jason Plato….24:08.196 3. Robert Huff….24:08.730 4. Anthony Reid….24:14.302* 5. Carl Breeze….24:14.398 6. Dan Eaves….24:14.658 * 10 second penalty awarded British Touring Car Championship points –*revised provisional points after Round 9 Drivers 1.*James Thompson….93pts 2.*Yvan Muller….89pts 3.*Anthony Reid….71pts 4.*Matt Neal….57pts 5.*Jason Plato….54pts 7.*Rob Huff….42pts 6.*Dan Eaves….40pts 8.*Tom Chilton….39pts 9.*Colin Turkington….32pts 10.**Luke Hines….32pts Manufacturers 1.*Vauxhall….228pts 2.*Honda….180pts 3.*SEAT….112pts 4.*Proton….39pts Teams 1.*VX Racing….183pts 2.*WSR….103pts 3.*Computeach Racing….95pts 4.*SEAT Sport UK….92pts 5. Team Honda 40pts Rounds 10, 11 and 12 of the*BTCC take place at Oulton Park on Sunday 23rd**May.

Did Reid get punched by Matt Neal also?
I saw Reid push Neal off in race 3, and on the slow down lap, Neal side swiped Reid down the straight... He rammed him LOL.. Was hoing to see Reid get the sh1t get kicke dout of him by the big man, but the tele coverage ended abruptly shortly after the champaign. ![]() Reid deserved more than a poxy 10sec penalty. Desperate driving from a desperate man in a desperate team... Sad no MG pukka team this year, but they're a company with other major issues ![]() Not sure the kind of PR Reid is attracting MG is the right kind tho. Well done to SEAT tho.. Huffy (not that I'm a fan) has some superb car control.... How sideways? LMAO... Nice to watch..

Just gotta look out for the replays of that round... But I'm please to hear Reid being dumped to places and a 10 sec penalty, saw him give Huff some hassel in round 8.... With Huff'y doing some nice sideways movements to keep his place, against Muller....

hardly any fishtail due to overcorrection either just slotting back in... To put SEATs manufacurers score into perspective...... SEAT have just 2 cars counting for the manufacturers title.. Vauxhall and Honda both have more...

yep...SEAT get hurt by only having two cars. reason the rules allow top three to score? to try and tempt teams to run more than two cars.

Yes they are. Manufacturer has to nominate which 3 cars will score points prior to the driver's briefing on Sat afternoon.
Last year at Brands when Chilton crashed during qualifying and was out for the weekend Honda nominated James Kaye's independent entry as the third manufacturer points scorer. |
