Question Fit FR/Cupra turbo to my 1.4 Formula Sport?

Hi everyone,

I've been wondering if anyone knows whether I could purchase a turbo for either the FR or Cupra, and then successfully fit it to my 1.4 Formula Sport?

Thank you.

You can make anything fit with enough time/work and money put into it.

But here comes the response everyone will say, dont bother, it will costs a lot of money to do, and the car wont be as quick as a cupra or FR.

Save your money to buy a cupra or an FR, or something better like a golf GTI!

yeah, like jordan said get the real thing, its well worth it! i had an awesome looking 1.2 & would have loved to whack a 20vt lump in it but when i looked at the financial side of it, it just made more sense to sell her on & start again with a proper FR. i miss the car loads & it breaks my heart to see it getting wrecked now but this FR puts a smile on my face when i boot it & the 1.2 could never do that without £1000s spent on it.

No it's not possible as the exhaust ports are a completly different pattern.

The amount of things you would need to do it would cost so much it would outweigh the benefits

then you'd want to upgrade suspension, brakes etc.

it will be far cheaper to buy an cupra!

if you're set on keeping your car I'd advise building a car you can't buy, so put the 1.4 TSi or a 2.0T golf GTi engine in ?

> otherwise there's probably supercharger kits out there?

I think i must be 1 of 3 people with a turbo 1.4 .

I can outrun stock 1.8t golfs and A3's.

Phey not being harsh but a Turbo 1.4 will never put out 1/4 of the tourqe a modded FR tdi will. I think youd struggle to beat a saxo vtr lol

There's a lot about this post that doesn't add up, not least your history of asking about big mods for 1.4 ibizas. If you've done it, I'm well impressed, but get some bloody pictures up rather than telling us all what it can outrun!! I personally find that sort of effort and work interesting and it would be good to see how you did it.

Otherwise I'll assume your like the people on the corsa forum I used to frequent, telling the world about their Z20LET conversions that never seemed to materialise...

As soon as you provide some proof, i shall.

If i had done as you have said you have, then i'd certainly have been asking for some more advice on here, which you don't appear to have.

Not saying you're a liar, but on a thread like this, i'd have been offering all the help I have to offer especially on something so uncommon as this. After all, is that not what forums are for?

You would be suprised how nippy the car is now. I was chasing VTRs before i installed my TSI manifold with only an exhaust system and open cone filter. And putting 'lol' at the end is just insult to the english dictionary.

What's insulting is your terrible grammar and not too mention the 'Bull' you are chatting.

I think you will find phay. That "it's AN insult to the English dictionary" not "it's insult to the English dictionary". Think before taking the p*ss out of someone. The LOL was there because I was trying not to sound like an absolute penis towards you and your ridiculous claim!
