PD 170 FR Clutch rating for remaps

Hi,

Just bought a PD 170 FR at the weekend and it is mapped to 205BHP and 310Lbs torque.

Just wondering how the cluthes on these cope with maps? I found the older models 150 not to last long after maps.

Power delivery is smooth while being full on, car has covered 54K mapped for 6k of its life.

Anyone have good/bad experiences with the standard clutches on these? To me they it feels more like an uprated clutch than the old OEM clutch on the 150tdi I had.

firstly mate sorry to shoot you down but we have been over and over this, the figures you have been quoted are brown and sloppy!

more likely running about 190-200

Anyway the Clutch and Flywheel will be fine IF you drive it correctly! Ran mine for 2 years with Standard Clutch and Flywheel, Only upgraded to SMF because i wanted to

Ok cheers for response,

Out of interest what prevents the figures being correct?

Just curious more than anything.
The same tuner mapped my Leon 130 to 170, Leon 150 to 186 and did this one before I got it from 170 to 205 all according to the rolling road(same one used each time and HP on untuned runs was accurate in each case.

Not a car park tuner, most used guy on Vag scene in Ireland and works with racing teams in UK etc so I didn't realise that the figs could have being incorrect.

Is their limitations that these cars can't go to this HP stage 1?

Currently I have DPF delete and remap.

What is the best way to go after this? Hybrid Tubo, exhaust, uprated clutch? or in what order?

I also have R32 brake setup fitted in case bigger HP in the future.

Also how is the reliability of these as the power and tuning increases?

i need to actually correct myself, i didnt release you have DPF Delete originally your 210bhp figure is quite realistic actually!

230 is about max on standard turbo and at 230 there farrrrr to smokey to use daily

ChippedIre.

They have a better clutch and turbo tolerances then than the PD150 I had then.

I like where it is now. I would like it to have a long llife as well!

205BHP and 310torque. Was thinking the figs were right. Nice smooth power delivery and pulls all the way, very happy with it.

Seen your thread. Pretty big so read a good bit last night. May have to go at it in parts!

Came accross another white FR in it very similar to mine Standard and like his mods so got sidetracked

Thats the one. Nice subtle stuff. Mine needs that spoiler and few bits he has. And a drop aswell.

Do all the FR's have the bluetooth with the phonebook on screen or is that an option when buying new?
