Pd150 SFS Fmic help... Please

Recently bought the SFS Fmic pipes and pancake pipe. Was told that they were a direct fit from the standard pipes but after getting under the car and removing the standard pipes I find its not.

Just need to find out what I need, I've ordered a new SFS turbo pipe to fit onto the new pancake, as for the other side of the Fmic, the intercooler end I need a adaptor?

As for the the EGR to intercooler, can the large plastic downpipe be keept and have a adaptor fitted so the SFS pipe can fit? The standard pipe is at 90 degrees but the SFS is a Kind of S shape.

Can someone please help me with the fitting

Cheers

This is the kit I bought...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SFS-Silico...#ht_2396wt_853

Also as you can see the difference in pipe work, one at 90 degrees and the other not?

How do I connect this to the standard pd150 egr to intercooler downpipe? I'm going to use an adaptor on the end of he egr downpipe but it's the angle of the pipe which is worrying me as its not the same 90 degree

Someone please help

EGR downpipe? Not sure what u mean. The kit you have bought. Fits from the drivers side intercooler (replaces pancake pipe) then runs into the turbo. It doesn't touch the egr

Sorry for not being to clear not sure of the pipe this might help.

http://i940.photobucket.com/albums/a...her-UK/IMG.jpg

From that diagram, Pipe no 4 (90degree pipe as pictured above) the sfs is not the same shape which needs to conect to pipe 6 (long plastic downpipe)

How can it be connected?

Nope it replaces 9 11 and 13. Like I said the kit you bought goes from drivers side o/s intercooler replaces pancake then enters turbo. It doesn't touch pipe 4. That's a different kit as I had, pic above.

I see, how much did the rest of the pipe work cost?

Will connect what I can and see if I can somehow link the new sfs pipe (pipe 4 replacement) to original pipe 6

Doh. It's not a pipe 4 replacement mate. It is a pipe 13 replacement. Which is totally different. I'm not sure on the price for the other kit. It's on sfs' site.

Just to make it clear again. The kit you have, doesn't replace pipe 4.

Sorry trying to get my head around this. Is pipe 13 the turbo pipe?

Yes. It's the sfs pipe you have shown in the pic. Remove your drivers wheel and take a look. It connects the turbo to the pancake. Simples.

I see sorry for all the questions, when I ordered the THS213-A kit off a company called ram-air I was told that they were the only pipes I needed to fit onto the FMIC in place of the standard onces.

So from going to fit them and not being able to due to half the pipe work missing it made me all confused.

Just spoke to SFS and ordered the right pipe work now so all can be fitted when they arrive next week.

Any advise on fitting the kits??

Cheers again for your help with my stupidity

No worries. Only thing I'd say is dump the jubilee clips and use bolt clamps.

THS213-A googles to give a hit on SFS straight away, where it's described as Turbo to Intercooler including Pancake Pipe. Actually I could do with one of them as my pancake pipe has a broken lug - but the >£300 pricing makes it less attractive: I'm not too bothered about looking pretty and don't have a remap.

Intercooler to manifold is THS204, five hoses, which lists around £275.

yeah they are expensive. I got mine when sfs were doing r and d work. Was around the same time Maz had his.

I got mine alot cheaper because of this. Always worth speaking directly with Anthony @ sfs.

i think the 1.8 t pancake can be made to fit with some work. It is harder to do with the 150 pd. I had a ths 1.8t kit. I used it for a while but wasnt happy with the fit and gave up and sold it on.

Got the intercooler pancake turbo hose off eBay for £215 delivered.

Just fitted it today, had to make a bracket to hold the pancake in place, also found the turbo to pancake pipe poped off before. Hopefully after a few tweaks it will hold together now. Think you are right about bolt clamps which I'll have to get some of.

Got the rest of the pipe work coming next week. Overall seems a good bit of kit.
