Increased stress of SMF flywheels?

Hi all,

My DMF is on the way out (about 3 months now!) so i'm still trying to decide if i want to go SMF or DMF

I've spoken with some local garages and one has heard of SMF flyweels breaking crankshafts because of the reduced dampening compared with a DMF. Is this true ? Im only stage one at the moment but in time i would like to go hybrid.

While im on the subject has anyone any recommendations ? Southbend silent SMF looks good to me but its quite pricy.

Car is 6 speed TDI Fr
