1.8t 20v remap
I know this has prob been asked no end of times, but as a newbie to these cars looking for some quick help.
Il be getting myself a seat cupra 1.8t 180bhp next week and im thinking about getting it remapped. What do i need to get it up to 210bhp? Do i need a certain air filter, fpr etc etc? And how can i check my engine is good for the re-map? And i live in rugby were would be the best place to go? Cheers |

Hi and welcome.
If the car is healthy ( not due a service, Starfleet mileage, or generally tired) a stage one map should see around 205-10 bhp. An intake and exhaust won't hurt, but should nt be needed necessarily. Prepare for hoses and coil packs to get stressed though, as all you're doing is winding the wick up. |

Make sure it serviced, buy a jetex cone filter and forge 007p or 008p dv valve. Depending on where you get it mapped they should check and scan the car before they put it on the rollers. AMD did with mine, and got me 217bhp and 261 torque on stage 1 and that was on the hottest day of this year

You don't need a new valve if yours is fine.

Baileys will normally cause the car to go into limp mode stick with either Forge 007/008

Welcome along mate ....Revo map should see at least 210bhp ... weak components around the engine will give in with the extra stress of the remap etc hoses , coil packs ... good service would do no harm before you get it mapped any way
I've got a stage 1 revo map and a forge 007 and love it makes such a difference

When I had mine mapped I had a high flow panel filter and cat back exhaust and tesco 99 fuel but I was advised to fit a forge recirc valve with a yellow spring but a few thousand miles after map my coil packs went so replaced all 4 (leon fr180) 207hp 262lb ft torque I don't think the exhaust makes much difference without down pipe and decat though

Do you need uprated coil packs with a stage 1? Or Isit not worth it? How much psi can the standard DV handle? Would you see a difference with a stage 1 changing the standard to a 007?

Don't need uprated coilpacks mate standard are fine. I fitted 4 new ones from Audi when 2 went of mine went. For what it costs for a 007 I would get one fitted mate.
