Whats overboost???

My Leon currently boosts up to 20 PSI but as soon as it gets there the engine seems to have a barnie and drop the boost right back down to 15 PSI. It feels great when it hits 20 aswell and you can really notice it when the boost drops back. Is my car overboosting? Is there anything else that this could be.

The car is a 2000 Leon cupra with 51k on the clock and it has been jabba'd.

Any ideas kids?

Cool

High but not unheard of. Someone who used to post on here ran 22psi for over 100,000 miles on a K03 without blowing it.

Anyone remember Mosser?

Doubt Mike would over do the boost, not good for PR blowing up engines...

So if its not overboosting then what else could it be thats telling my turbo to stop having fun?

Mike was very, very thorough with the car so im confident it isnt anything to do with the remap. Could it be my N75 (standard SEAT one) playing up? Maybe its worth me investing in the N75J just to see if its any better. The car is not logging any faults on vag com and the maf readings are good.

mmmm...

chipped?

most chips go to 20 psi but then go down to 15 or so when you get higher up rev range....

but not suddenly....

I thought that too. This is a very sudden drop though. It drops down slowly from 15PSI when you get to 5k and upwards.

mmm doesnt sound right.....

i can understand that it feels great when on 20, i feel that with my car..... it pulls really well then as the psi reduces its somehow disapointing....

id give jabba a ring im sure they will be happy to chat about it.
does the psi vary depending on which gear your accelerating in?
