Bells Seat - Hyde

Took the Toledo in for its 60k service at Bells Seat last week. First time I've had to use a dealer as I only bought the car 2 months ago. Told them when I booked it in that the MAF had gone and would need replacing. Dropped the car off at 9.00 and was told to come back for it at 5.00, which I duly did to find the following:

1. Was told the MAF sensor had failed and would need replacing (er, didnt I tell you that when I booked it in?!?!). Havent got one in stock so will have to order it in.

2. When I explained to them that the car is under warranty, they didnt believe me. Due to a c*ck up at the warranty house, the car is registered under a private plate, not the cars actual plate (despite the chassis numbers matching), so their advice was "book it in anyway, and if its resolved by the time we look at it, you wont have to pay". Tried to get them to call the selling dealer to confirm, but they ignored me. I phone selling dealer when I get home (Croyde motors in Devon - outstanding service!). They immediately apologise for any inconvenience and arrange for Bells to invoice them for the work and they will sort it out with the warranty company for me.

3. Car not washed. Despite me arriving to find entire service dept sitting in the office, I was told they were too busy, and I was looking at an hour and a half wait. Not only that, but the service book hadnt been stamped, and I was asked to go and retrieve it from the passenger seat for them if I wanted it to be.

4. Get car home to find inch long scratch on passenger rear door, and small scuffs on drivers door panel as though its been opened into a wall.

All in all, the combination of poor customer service and lack of care for my car has left me really angry, and I would strongly advise against using this dealer for servicing / warranty work. I'm taking my custom to Premier Seat in Leek in future as they have agreed to fit a new MAF sensor for me at short notice, and seemed only too happy to help.
