Hi All
Wondering if anyone knows if the facings I've arrowed in the attached pics can be removed individually (some parts just clip in and I managed to take them off to wrap, as in the pic of the infotainment unit) Fancy playing with my carbon wrap again but don't want to break anything trying to unclip them - they all look like they are clipped on but I haven't dared apply more than a little force to remove them.

Cheers

To remove the front door puller you first need to remove the door panel (which is quite an involved procedure in it's own right). Then from the diagram below you need to remove electrical connector (2), three screws (3, 4 & 5), and then you need to release the clips (6). The puller assembly (1) will then come out if you pull the back of it in the direction of the arrow...

The driver and passenger vents are just clipped in so you can simply use a trim removal tool to lever them out. Make sure the tool is plastic and not metal otherwise you will risk damaging something...

To remove the centre air vent panel, you first need to remove the infotainment display unit, then the decorative surround trim, then you will see 5 screws that you need to remove to get the air vent panel out. Again, make sure you use an appropriate plastic trim removal tool to get the decorative surround trim out...

Speed-FReek you are a total star! A perfect guide and I can now do some more playing with my carbon wrap - many thanks mate.

Bhoopoo - I have wrapped the lower panels and it's always bugged me that some of the plain black bits higher up aren't wrapped, something I can now remedy.

Update: Disassembled my dash as per instructions from SpeedFreek (thanks again for those mate) and wrapped the bits I wanted to do. Haven't done the screen surround as I think it may be overkill. Very happy with the results.

Hi guys, sorry to resurrect an old thread but I’m trying to find out how to remove the climate control panel without much luck. Would really appreciate if one of you could help or should I start a new thread?

Thank you Speed-FReek!! That’s an excellent guide, don’t know why that didn’t come up in my search?? Do you have any tips on a removal tool, as the gaps between the sides are almost non existent, is the 3370 tool required or is there an alternative tool/technique?

Cheers

If you don't already have a set of plastic trim removal tools then they're a worthwhile investment and you can usually improvise using one of the tools instead of the official factory tool. Try to avoid using anything metal wherever possible as you risk damaging something. The plastic tools are made of softish plastic so shouldn't do any real damage even if you manage to slip.

Click HERE to bring up the eBay search results for the trim removal tools sold by UK sellers.

I've got one of the red 11 piece sets (~£7.50) which includes a black fold-up carry bag and I wouldn't be without them.

Fine looking trim
Did you need to disconnect the battery first? Because I am thinking on wrapping everything including the head unit. Can I just disconnect it and do my thing or need to disconnect the battery first? Im afraid of getting any errors afterwards. Thank you

Hi,

do you know whether i can fit a sony XAV-AX100 as an aftermarker unit instead of the expensive Alpine ilx-702Leon retrofit alternative? Both unit have a top unit and a double din face.

thanks

I would be worried about losing all the car settings. The Alpine allows access to all those settings, will the sony?

To be honest I think the Sony may be a little bigger. I don't ever touch the settings now I have set them so would it really be that big of a deal? A Sony avx-100 is £300 and the alpine is almost 3 times the amount. Settings... Smettings
