Have seen some posts regarding dumpvalves, strut braces, brakes etc and was wondering if changing/adding any of these things invalidated your warranty. Seriously want the forge alloy dumpvalve and strut brace (tyres getting shagged and only got the car at the start of June..speeding sir - not me sir!). Also, are there any clear rear light clusters available yet as standard ones look more and more boring every time I look at them, especially compared to the dynamic looks of the rest of the car.
Car is going back to dealers (Spur garage, Hampton Court - thought I'd mention them as they're nice guys) on 22nd Sept. to have rattles, squeaks etc sorted out (particularly the one in the dash - really getting on my tits now ). That said, car is the mutts nutts, everyone should buy one.

Cheers!

Great site!

warranty is a grey area with mods unfortunately , depends how MOD friendly your dealer is

tips

FORGE valve is actually stronger than the common fault standard one so will save em money on warranty claims anyway

STRUT BRACE is a genuine accessory so no probs there BUT insurance companies tend to be a bit iffy with em

BRAKES hmmmmm warranty is only void with brakes to the components youve fitted OR any affected components , again you need a MOD friendly dealer

REMEMBER : SEAT themselves used to offer brake upgrades and are currently offering all sorts of suspension / wheels etc etc

well they are trying anyway

Talking

Thanks for the info Flapper.
Spoke to my dealer (car!) over the weekend and asked about the strut brace, no problems sir £80.50 please, so now I have that on order, forgot to ask about dumpvalve (doh!)which is a shame as I swear it's knackered (HUGE amounts of lag) just hope now that I can get uprated one fitted without losing warranty. I've done just under 5K miles and it's gone already and I'll be buggered if I'm going to take it in to be replaced every 4-6 months (what I don't understand is why they sell it with such shite ones for in the first place)

Thanks again

Damo

Flapper, thanks for the info on the suspension kit... and yes, its a bit dear!!!

Has anyone tried the suspension upgrade?

Actually, I'm getting a bit off topic here... I'll take this onto a more appropriate thread...
