Couldn't resist them

I called into the dealers on Friday to pick up some oil. While I was waiting I saw these and couldn't resist them.

are they completely new wing mirrors or is it a "trim" item fitted to the std parts?

also do you mind saying how much they were as I may be interested in a pair myself

cheers

From memory they are about £34 - have a look on the Seat.co.uk website .

You lever off the coloured plastic cover - easiest with the mirrors in the park position - and push the new ones on.

I did have a problem with one of them afterwards when I tried to park it, but it eventually cured itself.

Just park the mirrors take a firm hold of the front edge (the bit that is normally out of site when in the normal position) and carefully pull the cover off.

Chrome plated plastic as I understand it. I had a similar problem to tezza, one wing mirror wouldn't un-park once the new cover was on, had to remove it and file off a small bit so it could turn.

I noticed they had gone... thought you'd deleted them...

Afraid I got the wrong oil for topping up but I'm sure it will do, Mobil Diesel 0-40W fully synthetic. I know I'm leaving myself wide open now to be told by the informed ones that I got the wrong all completely. I think for just a bit of topping up the Mobil Disel will be fine. I got fed up looking at all the cans for that magic VAG code and Castrol make it and sell it but they didn't have any but BP or is it Shell sell it....

Just be careful on that one mixing certain oils can leave you with a right mess. I've just been down to look at the bottle I got from the Seat dealer but it doesn't have any of those numbers on it just the VW spec number

I think the 501 or whatever it is, is about foaming or something... I think a little bit of topping up with Mobil won't make any difference as long as one sticks to sythethics Mobil Diesel 0-40W... but as I said yesterday I stand corrected.
