Would you wave back?

Over the last week or so I have seen 3 other Alteas on the road that I have given a little wave to as I go past. Only one has returned the wave. If another Altea driver waved at you would you wave back?

I'm just talking about a little raise of the hand here not some extravagant lean out of the car swinging both arms around.

Ironically the only one to wave back was the guy who seems to have bought the black sport tdi that I had as a courtesey car for 2 weeks while I was waiting for mine to be sorted.

out of all the alteas i have seen (and it is quite a few now) only one person has waved at me and that was an older geezer. i did sort of wave back once i had realised he was waving and not me thinking wow look there is another altea!

Not that many Altea's around me (except for Steve of course) but the one time I did manage to wave to one I got a nice wave back and a big smile.

as an ex-biker i realise that nodding and waving is a tradition thats faded away over the last 5 years, when i first gave up biking and spent all my time in a "cage" i could be seen nodding at an angle to most bikers coming the other direction - needless to say i didn;t get a responce

but as for the easily reconised Altea - there's no excuse not to notice each other, and it costs nothing to wave back, so i'd certainly give others a wave.

Spotted a parked up red altea with wheel trims today, the owner had spent money putting chrome wing mirror covers ont he car, but it looked a little bit top heavy with the trims being on the car too - 1'st rule of Bling - start with the wheels

Think with Altea's it would be obvious thats why you were waving. My dad had the same when the Subaru Forester came out, he wondered why they were all waving at him at first, then he started waving away!

I always wave, not that many people wave back though. Waving is a fun thing , sure better than road rage.

typical, i agreed to go shopping to lakeside shopping center with my dear mother, who wanted to show off her new vw passat. And on the journey we saw four ALTEA's, typical since owning mine ive only seen one on the road in east anglia ,and ive been gagging to use the big wavey hand to all fellow altea owners.

Here in Dorset I see a few other Alteas around and have amazingly been waved at / started the wave on every occasion! It's funny because I was thinking at the weekend how I should start a thread saying how nice it is that all the Altea drivers I've passed have waved at me! I think its a good thing, at least until they get so popular as Leons that they are everywhere!

I had a strange experience in my local Tesco's after doing the shopping Saturday night. Got in, pulled off and an identical Altea in colour was pulling across the Tesco's car park towards me [boy don't the Altea's look sexy], gave a wave and a nod back and we left in procession through the local town. He turned off, so there is one more around here. I am not alone......

5 weeks ago I went to Germany (from Norway) and imported a used 1,9l diesel. On the way back home I pased an Altea on the autobane.
This is the only Altea I have meet on the road.
On 5 weeks I have driven 4000 km inc. a holyday trip to Sweden, and no other Altea's to wave back to...
I'm just waiting to use my winking hand!

They are not very common in the UK either, which is kind of nice. I wonder if you had got an automatical whether you would have been able to have got more waving in. Still you will be putting snow chains on yours soon.

I will wave to anyone so Altea drivers are fair game, I even stopped in my old A3 last week to talk to a guy polishing his new Altea (was that you?) I know there are 2 others around here and a toledo that I thought was an Altea till I saw it side on!

watch our Altea drivers in North west (and anywhere else I might drive to ) I will be waving.

Sorry people but come to Crewe, here due to Bentley Motor Car employees getting a very good deal on cars (a new one every 9 months or 6000miles, for a small fee per month) Seats and VW`s are very common here in Crewe.

At the moment its the ALTEA & Cupra, Golf and Touran that you see the most, but on the plus point, you get to see all the models/ colours in the range before you choice which one you want.

Cheers
Stokey

Shame... have you tried flashing the lights ?..... In my my old Uno a few years back when it was new I'd get flashed... I know it might effect ones sexual prowess if one doesn't get acknowledged especially by those that fancy.... perhaps it's not cool to wave and flash.... still all this car stuff might be like human attraction where the object of your desire who you thought was like you, 2.0 litre engine with DSG and 17" wheels [fully lubed with that special VW stuff] just turned out to be petrol... have you thought of that ?. God forbid.
