Toyota Celica - old style

Looking at a 95 celica at the weekend. Looks stunning (well to me anyway)

its a 2.0 16v - are these things as quick as my little car?

Any other useful info would be good - cheers guys

Its not standard. Its got a TRD body kit and Lowered suspension. This might help a little?

Under powered though....can't have that!

I take it they weigh a bit more than an ibiza

It come with warranty i think

Does it used the same 2.0 16v lump that they use in the MR2? I know that that engine is bullet proof!

MR2 Turbo - A bit lethal in the wet

Celica nice safe car as has been said no rocket ship from the stock 2.0 something around 115/150 bhp so nothing like your 'biza but still its a rock solid motor

But when it goes wrong big money to fix - you have been warned

well - it was a tad rusty and....

Radiator pipes were leaking - 5 hour job from front to back
Needed a new Radiator.
Manifold was leaking - 4 hour job to replace the exhaust.
discs were warped
calipers kept siezing

£1300 to get it through an MOT with another possible £1000 in the next month

apologies to anyone who bought it afterwards...

I've seen an MR2 spin 180' on a roundabout I was about to join, not even going fast, just accelerated at the wrong moment, oposite lock, then spun the way they were trying to correct it. And that was in the dry lol Dodgey & need a good driver.
