HElp tar problem

Just finished work and got to my car to find that it looks like a tar sort of substance has worked its way onto my wingmirror. I tried scratching it off with my nail but no joy. Any ideas of how i can remove it without damging my paint work!

Turtle wax bug and tar remover? Tried it on my bumper and that seemed to work.

i noticed that autoglyn car polish (the white bottle with red label) takes it off as you polish it. rub it on wet and off it comes.

My mate had a yamaha FS1E 50cc moped when we were at school and his mum had just got a brand new dishwasher she went out shopping only to return to see her brand new dishwasher ( and in 1978 was state of the art ) stuck on a programme because we didnt know how to operate it -switched it off, opened door all the degreasing agent that he put in there to wash his FS1e's carbureter came out -youve never seen bubbles like it.... needless to say that was the day he left home....
