Poppy Banner

Just a quick "well done" on the poppy banner.

Shows respect and gratitude to the man and women who died so we can be who and where we are today.....

Well done. (who ever did it!)

Hope everyone has bought their poppies!

I was in the Sainsbury down at Lee Green (SE London) the other day. Poor old lady was sitting there with her tray of poppies and everyone just walked past.

I bought one and she was very grateful - got to her feet and pinned it on to my jacket.

I don't see many poppoes this year - it is for a great cause! Never forget...

Yup, bought one in the pub two weeks ago!

Plus something came over me when I was in asda the other day, and for some reason I put a fiver in thins old mans colleciton tin.
Not sure if he was an "original" geeza, but he looked pretty old and was all in Dress uniform. I think they deserve it.

I work at the NHS in brum and I haven't seen ANYONE else with a poppy on there suit

Damn straight.

Although I think having a smaller poppy and making a bigger contribution so they make more "profit" (so to speak) is better. I know I put that fiver in the tin, the guy who I gave it to did. That's all that matters.

I wear my poppy with pride.

Yep, poppy worn with pride and never forget those people who gave their lives for us. If you ever want to know exactly how much these people gave read Forgotten Voices, stories from the people who were there in WW1. Also a WW11 book out.

Must say not seen enough poppies about round here.

27 left?

So if 25% of the population cough up £1 for a poppy.
10% for general running gcharges ...

thats £7555182 ish.... so
£200000 ish each!

Just messing.

Only 27 left. We moan about our lives, about tax, about the weather, but we endure NOTHING in comparison to what they did for us.

And the other 100 odd yo, bloke, who was a right boy, found himself a fancy piece aged 89, smoothy.
