Problem plz help

Hey

had my black 2003 cupra 20V T over a week now, this morning when i got to work fuel light came on...no fuss...lunch time went and filled her up. Again no fuss

Driving home, 17 miles into this first tank and i look down at the gauge's-the fuel gauge is flat at 0 but no light or audible warning as if gauge isnt connected. En route home i itentionally went flying over some speed bumps to see if it had been caused by a bump and trying to get it to read again but nothing.

There was a slight smell of petrol in the cabin for no more than a minute before i looked down (this made me look down) but that was more than likely the banger id just let out in a que of traffic ahead of me which was now stationary.

Got home, turned off ignition and then on again and its fine. Went inside got changed then drove it to post box, gave it some welly as well but still normal gauge functioning reading full.

car does feel a little different, not sure whether this is just me or not though.

Any help/advice much appreciated as im meant to be taking it to Brum on business monday.

Need to get it plugged into vagcom for a check. Most likely a dodgy sensor.

vag com is a diagnostic program/software that is similiar to the 5051 software that most v.a.g dealers use.

ure fuel light problem could be the tracks burnt out on ure fuel sender in ure tank.
