Christmas Light Shopping.....

No not "Christmas lights" ... "light shopping at Christmas"

As you all know my HID’s went in last weekend. Since then (in comparison) all my other lights have looked dull and yellow.

Spoke to a few people on the forum and lots of people have made good recommendations.

ANYWAY …. I was out and about wasting my Saturday away with a good friend of mine and we popped into a local “Car Performance” shop. Full of stoopid things like LED exhaust tips and spinner alloys. (Should have set off alarm bells)

So I asked the guy about lights for my car. Told him I had just put HID’s in and I wanted to up-rate all my other bulbs on the front.

Under the extra condition I could bring them back if they were not as good as he said they would be…

He sold me:

“White” Main beam. 100w. £19
No difference. Still yellow, still the same brighness.
Taking them back.

“White” LED side lights £8
Couldn’t get my other ones out! Tried them in my other car just to see what the looked like.
Looked quite nice. Not sure how legal they will be though. And I don’t think I want to draw any MORE attention to myself as the HID’s do anyway.
Will fit them and make a decision tonight.

“Amber” LED indicators. £9 each.
He said they would definatley fit my car. And they would NOT flash double speed, and he had NEVER heard of LED indicators flashing double speed. And I would NOT need an LED flasher regulator, in fact he didn't know what one of those was (and the alarm bells STILL didnt go off)
They didn’t fit. They were “straight” bayonet rather than off set.
I managed to fit them, just. (I know I shouldn’t have, but I wanted to see how they looked like) and guess what…
Yup, Double speed.

Busy all day Sunday, so I didn’t get to take them back, but I WILL be going back this Saturday and getting ALL my money back.

Result.
Do MORE research and know that the people on this forum know LOTS about these cars and how they work/act.
Plus people in shops will say anything to get a sale out of you.
ers!

(and yes.... Im a Muppet!)
