Different CD Radio in Cupra 1.8 20VT

Just thinking of putting an mp3 CD radio in my Seat Cupra, the old one is out of guarantee and a bit iffy. Anyway, to cut a long story short, are the ISO connectors on the back of the AURA CD Radio (the one that comes factory fitted to the car) the same ones used on most car radios which i could buy in, say Halfords (i.e. forgetting about the fact that the AURA radio is bigger widthways, would it be a straight swap-over connection wise ???). And the second question is, would most other CD radios work with the factory fitted CD changer already in there, or is that a big job ??. Seems a shame to dump the changer when it works okay !!. Cheers, Andy

Connections will be ISO plugs but I believe you'll need to use a PC2-69-4 adaptor to move the K-line wire out of a potential powered socket from memory, the CD changer will not work with any aftermarket unit im afraid.

Many thanks Davidol for the quick reply !. Where would i get one of those adaptors from that you mention ? Are they very expensive ??. Not too bothered about the changer, i can get 11 albums on an mp3 CD for the radio, seeing as i have to get a new one anyway !! Regards, Andy

my 1.8 20Vt cupra has a 6 cd changer. I can get it to randomly play the tracks on an individual CD (press and hold 4) but it wont shuffle the tracks on the 6 CD's - for example play track 5 on cd 2 then skip to track 8 on cd 4 etc... Am i just misinterpreting the manual - it says press and hold 6 to randomly play CD's
???

It will play them randomly but only when that cd has finished

You cant have random tracks and cds at the same time though, afaik
