FinerDetails of a FR TDi

Dave made the trip north today from Stafford, got to Rochdale for around 10am:

Knowing Dave quite well we didn't need to go through the usual pre-detail chat, just caught up on a few things and moved the car up and under my new outdoor detailing bay (otherwise known as a pop-up Gazebo lol).

We washed the car (two bucket method) and then used a foam gun attachment to clay. Dave got stuck in:

Once clayed we moved the FR into the garage, dried her off and started to have a ganders at the fine swirling he'd acquired recently.

Using the PC, a finer cut pad and Pinnacle Swirl Remover we did a test area. Whilst greatly improved we both agreed the cut needed more to improve the results. So we stepped up to a medium cut pad and the Pinnacle Advanced Swirl Remover, first pass at L2, second at L4 and third at L6. We followed this technique across the bonnet, roof and bott, before moving back to the fine cut and the Pinnacle Swirl Remover, repeating the roof, bonnet and boot, and also the rest of the panels with these products and technique.

We then replaced the 4 inch pad with a 6 inch mutli contact polishing pad and applied Pinnacle Advanced Finishing Polish panel by panel.
Next we a hand applied layer of Wolfgang Hi Gloss Sealant, left to cure for 45 minutes.

Whilst the sealant bonded we dried and treated the alloys, using NXT metal polish, and the tyres to Megs High Endurance Gloss Tyre Shine. Dave also applied a layer of Ag glass polish to all exterior glass and mirrors.

With the seanlant fully cured with wiped this clear, and then applied wipe on, wipe off a gorgeous wet glossy layer of Pinnacle Souveran. Buffed AG Glass polish clear and brought the car into the daylight to admire:

As I'm based in Rochdale north of Manchester, is the trip from Ipswich ok by you?

Feel welcome to contact me via the email on my website
