Pinnacle soooo good we did it twice!

Johnny05 and Tweekster arrived yest morning arounf 8.30am. We'd arrnaged the date some weeks ago, and had met up in between to have a chat, and a ganders at the cars.

We took some before shots, see later in post with the after shots and set to on the details.

We started off by setting up the pop up gazebo etc

then straight into two bucket method washing and sunchronised claying using Pinnacle Detailing Clay....

With both cars clayed, we then drired the vRS's using Meguiars Water magnets and moved them into the detailing bays....

John's car hadn't really seen any TLC for 12 months and after an inspection we set to using the PC's, a light cut 4 inch pad and Pinnacle Swirl Remover. Lesson for both lads, and technique demostrated and consolidated they each started to make their way on the side panels. Whilst the lads de-swirled the sides I concentrated on the bonnet and roof.

Some shots after de-swirling:

Next up was alayer of Pinnacle Advanced Finishing Polishing, using the PC's and Polishing pads.

The flake started to come through after this:

With the polished applied we then applied a layer of Wolfganag Hi Gloss Sealant and left to bond. While the selant bonded we moved outside to Tweekster's vRS.

As Tweek's tends to spend a bot more time on his car, and its younger, the paintwork was generally better condition. We used the fine cut pad and the Swirl Remover on some target areas before using Pinnacle Cleansing Lotion and polishing pads to clean up the whole car.
We followed this with the Pinnacle Advanced Finishing Polish, and a layer of Wolfgang Sealant.

With the selant applied, we left to bond and moved back to Johnny's car. Wiping off the selant revealed some serious grins on the two lads!

Next we topped the seaant with Pinnacle Souveran Wax. Applied by hand and removed panel by panel, to create:

Once the whole car had been done we returned outside and followed the same procedure on the second vRS.

Tyres treated with Meg Hi Endurance Gloss, glass with AG Glass polish. Alloys and exhoust with Megs NXT Metal Polish Paste.

Loads of pics, before and after:

Some close ups:

The full shots:

Two very proud vRS Owners:

5pm, both details all done, everything packed away, one very tired Deailer:

Thank you to the guys for w great day, we took 61 shots in all, and had some real fun getting there too!

here's what the owner's had to say:
Quote:
I had a brilliant day thanks a lot Iain , i learnt so much about detailing i thought i knew how to clean a car being an ex-car valeter eeeerr how wrong was i.
my car hadnt been waxed for about 12months and looked a complete different colour compared to pauls (more of a slate grey )
the pinnacle products we used were so easy to work with compared to some i have used in the past and my furby now looks so BLING
all the swirls have gone and boy do they show up on black magic paint
the paint is now so smooth and so deep the flake just pops in the sunlight (when it does come out) the car actually looks wet
So many thanks again to Iain for teaching me how to clay use the pc (porter cable not computer) and advice on products and correct use of them, and to paul for bringing a clean car and showing mine up but not for long
it was a long day but it just flew by and the knowledge i learnt is priceless
so many people could learn so much from this kind of detail

THANKYOU Iain & Paul

Thanks for the replies guys(oh that rhymes )we aren't professionals or even close but we did has some expert help and advice with technique and products so thanks again Iain. The biggest difference to our normal process was all the prep work before we even applied any wax or polish, such as claying and swirl remover and paint cleaner, both of the last 2 stages were applied with a random orbital polisher (porter cable 7274).
Any other questions you have please don't hesitate to PM me
Regards Tweeks.

So pinnacle is the new line up then!

Looking lovely mate...

I take it you rate this new lineup pretty highly judging from the shots here and what you had to say about the products at Oulton?

very much so, the new line is considerably more expensive than the Megs kit I also have (hey a tub of souveran is £40 alone!!!) but the end results are mega... you can just see the paint lift and glow as each stage passes, and just when you thought it was maxed out, the souveran goes on and it just goes 'bang' so wet and glossy right back at you!

I have been impressed with the threads I have seen showing what Finerdetails has done.

I have a black LCR that needs some TLC and I am a novice so I have sent Iain at finerdetails an email. Hope you can help !!!

Just so many different things to choose from and I am terrified of mucking it all up and ruining the paintwork totally.

Those VRS's are looking very nice fella.
