Had these fitted to my Leon by the guys at APS in Brackley.

Managed to buy them cheaply from a guy working for Renault F1 who was selling them on Ebay. A great little mod for those with a lowered car which allows the steering arms to be back on the level thereby causing less stress when cornering hard. Something I tend to do a lot with my diff

A worthwhile protective mod especially since my GT-RS is coming soon

Nice one to the guys at APS in Brackley who I heartily recommend to everyone for projects, servicing etc. A real pleasure to deal with and customers I met came from all over the country just to have ther VW cas looked after by them. :D

nice one. Thats quite interesting as I'm about to order a new hub to see if I can sort out by bent wheel. May look at doing this too.

very very interesting photo - thanks - in the last photo are the S3's on the right ? if so they will also stop your car rolling as much I suspect - be interested to hear if you think so......

No - the cleaner ones. Wouldn't think they would stop the car rolling but having said that I have had so much chassis work done it would be virtually impossible to say.

Really it helps the steering arms out as they are reverted back to an OE position due to the extended "length" of the hub.

I dont think you have moved the steering arm at all - the distance from where the strut fastens to the arm is still the same - but what you have done is lower the wishbone pivot - this will raise the roll center of the car and stop it rolling so much in the corners

see below for more explanation:

Rob mentioned thjis thread via email.

Indeed, interesting potential swap, but I'm not sure if he made clear but the net result of the bottom ball joint moving 'south', but the steering arm not being moved down, is bump steer. This is due to the fact that you will have altered the relationship between the angle of the wishbone and the angle of the steering arm.

The car will technically behave differently, but what may be more apparent is increased tyre wear due to bump steer - I suspect the car will start to feather a tyre edge in due course.

Just worth you knowing, rather than having us all sitting here politely nodding :)

Interestingly the castor looks different between the two struts - strut tube clamp is offset a different way.

There were some other bits changed as well to negate all the above and of course a full alignment is an essential. Car handles like a dream and tyre wear so far (2K) not an issue over normal
