For the second year in a row, SEAT employees and SEAT Sport drivers have been able to celebrate together the brand’s success in the World Touring Car Championship. SEAT’s  Technical Centre, production facility and corporate building at Martorell provided the backdrop for the visit today of Gabriele Tarquini, Yvan Muller, Jordi Gené, Rickard Rydell and Tiago Monteiro, who offered employees two more world titles to add to those already achieved in 2008.

The early-morning visit began with the drivers being welcomed at the corporate building by SEAT Chairman James Muir, who congratulated them on their successes this season.

Then both the León TDI WTCC and drivers visited the facility’s technical centre, workshops and corporate building where they were showered with congratulations while stopping continuously for photos and autographs. After lunch in the corporate building dining room, repeat visits were made to the workshops for the afternoon shift employees.

The day was busy and exciting for both drivers and team members, particularly for Gabriele Tarquini. This week the world champion is receiving various accolades as a just reward to his extraordinary season. Last Friday in Bologna the prestigious magazine Autosprint awarded him the Golden Helmet as one of the best drivers of the year. Today he was given another accolade by SEAT employees, and next Friday he will receive his trophy as WTCC champion at the FIA gala in Monaco. At the same gala, SEAT will be receiving its prize as Manufacturers’ Champion for the second year running.
