According to information on the Spanish website Sportmotores and TouringCarTimes, SEAT will announce their plans for the 2010 WTCC programme next week. It is expected to announce a seriously downscaled programme.

While the number of factory supported SEAT's are likely to be reduced in number. The independent SEAT's are expected to grow in numbers with several top independent drivers looking to acquire diesel SEAT Leon's for the 2010 season.

WTCC bosses announced last month that the prize money reserved for the competitors of the Yokohama Independents' Trophy will be substantially increased in 2010.

The total amount of the prize money rises from 384,000 to 480,000 Euros, meaning that at each event 40,000 Euros will be awarded to the independent drivers, compared to the 32,000 awarded until 2009.
