YourRacingCar.com storm into the BTCC at Silverstone with Phil Glew SEATCupra.net is proud to reveal the exciting news that YourRacingCar.com will contest the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship at Silverstone on the  weekend if 21/22 August, in a Special Tuning UK SEAT Leon.  SEATCupra.net the No1 SEAT enthusiasts community will also be sponsoring the YRC Special Tuning UK Leon for the Silverstone round.

YRC's Team Manager Hannah James announced: "You know we're ambitious and we simply didn't have the patience to wait until next year to get our name up in the biggest lights in British motorsport so here we are… working night and day to get everything ready for Silverstone".

By choosing to make such a high-profile debut ath YRC's home event; they've taken the decision to bring in a driver with touring car experience for their first BTCC race weekend in the shape of Phil Glew.

Phil will be at the helm of the Special Tuning UK SEAT Leon… simply our favourite touring car of all time.

If moving into the BTCC isn't exciting enough for YRC and their fans, they'll also become the first to run the series' Next Generation Touring Car Engine in something other than a Vauxhall Vectra.

Although Phil will be at the wheel of the YRC SEAT in its debut event, Fulvio remains a key member of YRC – and he isn't going anywhere. Hannah said: "We're a team and we have to make challenging decisions sometimes and this was no exception. Running a new engine-chassis combo is a huge deal for even the most experienced of drivers and Fulvio's debut in the BTCC is as important to us as it is to him. Due to the time scales we've been working with there's been no time for testing and that, we decided, was too much to ask of Fulvio – it simply wouldn't have been fair to him. He is however fully focused on making his BTCC debut in the near future and he's hugely looking forward to the weekend as his responsibilities at Silverstone lie with helping us make it a weekend to remember".

Phil Glew said: “I'm over the moon to be asked to be part of the YRC team and I can't wait to do my very best to deliver the results you deserve for all the support you've shown. Although there's a lot less pressure on me to deliver results on track due to the new engine and new package, I do feel a massive responsibility to deliver a good weekend for everyone involved due to all the hard work which has gone into the organisation of this from YRC's end! I also have a responsibility to develop the new engine and chassis which I am very excited about as I'll be working very hard with my fantastic engineer to make this work!... Wish me luck!"

Fulvio's thoughts: “Our aim as a team has always been to get into touring cars and that's no secret. We took great care in deciding how we were going to do that. With a new engine-chassis package Phil has the experience we need and his involvement helps us make the massive début we all want. I'm really looking forward to making my personal debut in the BTCC very soon”.
