| TOM BOARDMAN WINS ESTORIL RACE SEAT Hungarian driver Gabor Weber took the victory of the second SEAT Leon Eurocup race staged today at the French racetrack in Pau. On the dry track, Weber, who started from pole after finishing eighth yesterday, managed to win the race clearly. However, the overall victor of the weekend was Briton Tom Boardman, who has been awarded with the prize conferred by SEAT Sport to the overall winner of the meeting. |

Tom Boardman will be taking part in the WTCC race during the meeting in Estoril, Portugal, in July, at the wheel of a SEAT León WTCC. From the first laps of the race, Weber opened a gap of four seconds over Frenchman Clairet, with whom he had been fighting during the first few metres, leaving also Larini and Boardman behind. The big fights were carried out for place four and six. Larini and Boardman drove almost side by side trying to decide who would get the last place on the podium, until the last part, in which the Italian was able to open a gap of almost one second. Meanwhile, Nash and Portuguese driver Beirao were fighting for the fifth position. In a racetrack like Pau, were overtaking is rather difficult, the starting positions were eventually kept until the end. Weber, Clairet and Larini stepped on the podium, with Boardman and Nash on fourth and fifth place respectively. Despite a couple of incidents, one of which involved Swiss driver Fredy Barth, one of the outstanding men in the Championship, the race was clean and 16 cars were able to finish. Gabor Weber: "The first lap was complicated since I had Clairet right by my side in some of the most difficult angles of the track. I was able to avoid the incidents happened during the race and from that moment I focussed on setting a fast and constant pace to avoid problems until the end of the race". The next round of the SEAT León Eurocup will be held on the Portuguese track of Estoril on July 12 and 13.
