but if it was £1 and your car handled and went like a TDI cupra would you do it?

if i want handeling and power i wouldnt look at spendingy money on cosmetics :)

so suspension, remap, system, filters etc would be first on the list

i am happy with my standard bumpers otherwise i would of bought an lcr in the first place :)

its all personal opinion tho... you have to do what you like and what feels right to you.

opinions are like arseholes... everyone has one

:cartman:

There you go Maz, I'm laughing!! lol

Really, a badge is one think, putting on a better looking or better breathing front end is another thing... a badge costs pennies, the kit cost near 1k so in my eyes its not trying to be something else by a cheap stick on, it making it better.... otherwise, modding as a standard would be the same as sticking on a badge, your trying to improve your car what its not... like fitting HID's to your car Nathino, your just copying a BMW lights... can see, its better the car when you change the appreance, but a badge isnt changing anything...

i went for hid's on mine because they give better light, not to look like a bmw

angel eyes are what i would assosiate with a bmw which wouldnt be something id egt on mine :)

Your not getting what I am saying, if you had all the ground work in place...like you said suspension remap etc...would you put them on if they were a £1?

It's very Audi front-endesque.. Think S-Line badge... offset to the right of my grille.. Popular mod and easy to achieve a good look. But yeh, I'll get the pic of the bum and nose of my car. Debadged and "Cupra" relocated, for ya.

Pwomiseee.

No i'm not copying BMW lights as they are OEM units with different bulbs. If they were angel eyes i'd agree but they're not. Can't really compare the too, can you....

No i dont think you get me here...

You have modified your lights to that which Seat never intended to have. The light you chose where on models of OTHER cars that do have them STANDARD.... this then relates to how you said, making your car something its not, ok its not changin the looks of the car on appreance but your lights now have light that BMW, MERC and etc use as standard.
To me that is the same as fitting a Cupra R bumper, its a fitting it never had at the start, but i liked them better....
Might be abit far from your train of thought the logic of it... but the idea is, if its a change for gain in looks and not a change of misleading looks!

Misleading by means of a £2 badge....

Then by your logic changing the light bulbs, washer fluid, wiper blades from anything other than standard is making it something its not. Please, do be serious.

We are talking about body kits and badges not something that is (well almost) a direct replacement.

So if I change my main beam bulbs to ohhh lets say Osram silverstars does that my car say a Lexus wanna be?

I never changed my bulbs for looks, its all about safety and my ability to see in the dark due to lot of night driving. Not the same league as putting on Cupra R bumpers on to my tolly is it....

Just looked at my car and umm nope no projector units in there....Do BMW do HIDs in non projector lamps then?

Your missing the point though!

Slick and many other users changed to Cupra R bumper because of the following reasons

1) It looks better
2) Aid's in airflow/performance
3) Looks OE and not some halfords bolt on.
4) Next logical step in modding the car for performance and looks

In general the people who have put Cupra R kits on havent gone and put a Cupra R badge. They are not modding the make the car something its not they are modding because it benfits them. In your example your saying any modification it making the car something its not...well no basically unless its a badge saying its an M3 instead of a 318i when no mods of any benifit has been done.

that makes no sence or i am just reading it all wrong

for a start it wouldnt be £1

but if your talking about the value of the items, if they were within reason i would paythe money.

but i know what i spent on my car i will still be spending much less than if i bought an lcr in the first place therefore i can justifyu all of my mods

nyteshade the bulbs are H7 - ive got a "virtual daylight" kit which came ready to go :)

I think its gonna be an agree to disagree jobbie :p

I love the look of Slicks car (not a fan of the rear spoiler though) and never said it looked good but just think if you want the look just buy it in the first place (appreciate the Cupra TDIs didn't have that facility). Just my opinion.

Its a see saw action here... lol

AS for if i was being serious, yes i was, its the point that HID are legal in non projector lights and the use has to be automatic adjusted via electronics, none of which HID off good value can provide... anyways it wasnt the point of the item i chose, its the idea behind the point of change anything from standard and your doing what you said something its not... e.g. why change suspension on a FR, your only trying to have the suspension handling of a Cupra R, so why not get the Cupra R instead... that kind of approach...

I was intent of argueing, well it was in a way, lol, but the fact that modding something is trying to make it into something like a Cupra R, if anything, my car is as far from a Cupra R as it can get... just ask RobM...lol

Anyways, agree to disagree, and we are all trying to have a car that we love in are own way...
