What REAL mpg do you get from yours?

I must admit since my remap my mpg has gone lower. If I am careful i can get 51-54mpg on a motorway run. Normal driving and some spirited driving sees 32-42mpg.

Motorway run today saw returns of 59 mpg.
If i add the miles left calculation to the miles i've done i can expect 700 miles from this tank. Doubt i'll have the patiance to do it, but 650 should be acheivable.

I wouldn't get that purely because i haven't got cruise. Just goes to show cruise control does pay for itself especially now fuel is much more expensive.

Its the expense thats keeping my speed steady and mpg up.
I doub't i'd acheive it without cruse control, and i'm tempted now to commute to work via the motorway which is slightly further but returns better MPG, instead of the slightly quicker route on A+B roads but returns 48-51 mpg.
A trial run is needed i think....

Why?
Mine still drives and gets good MPG up and down hill.
For best possible MPG you coast on the clutch, but thats cheating.

well i always find takin cc off and coming off the gas means mpg goes through the roof :) downhill anyway

Depends how bothered you can be to do that for 1 or 2 mpg I have found! I just let it do it's own thing and regularly see 630m to a tank

I might be on for a 700er on this tank too! The warmer weather has increased my MPG :D

i need to get cruise for sure...i mean even if you do it on dual carriage ways and when your taking it easy. I found when i am remapped slight use of the accelerator and mpg goes down. The realtime mpg counter is like 50-60mpg...some gas 17mpg...

65mph in 5th with cruise set nets me some good figures but not quite slow enough to be too boring. It's actually quite good as it makes you think about distances and working out how close you can get before you need to let off for a gap in the traffic
