Hi !

I have now been looking for a new CAI/Intake for my Seat Leon Cupra R -11 (2.0T) for a while and have found (what i think) 3 good intake's.
Do you have any advise or expereince from this or any recomendation of others?
I'm going to cut the engine cover to keep it with the new CAI.

Dbilas : http://www.dbilas-shop.com/Products...3/FlowMaster-Kit-Audi-Seat-Skoda-VAG::19.html

BSH : http://www.bshspeedshop.com/bshstore/products/BSH-%2d-TSI-Race-Intake-.html

And maybe EVOMS : http://www.evoms.com/marketplace/ViewProduct.asp?Now=6%2F29%2F2011+6%3A03%3A22+AM&ProductID={8CDEE7A3-3B09-44FD-88D7-731C5B329E41}&OrgID={CA5E16BC-D877-4137-8237-7EB9084DD3D8}&ParentID={D9F63260-39E6-40B2-9011-178BD69E2834}&Curr={D9F63260-39E6-40B2-9011-178BD69E2834}

What i like about this is that they are shielded from heat and have there air-filter in front of my air-inatke (the grill in the front of my car).
(Not like this that i cant understand how these can be effective : http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4007/4469581643_841e6d2d68_b.jpg)

There is very little difference between them performance wise but out of the three you have mentioned, i would opt for the Evoms. AL is the man to speak to on here as he has fitted both the Dbilas and Evoms fitted to he's previous Cupra.

If available for the Cupra-R, you may wan't to consider the Forge Twintake if a filter fully heat shielded intake is your prefered route.

The ITG intake in the link you posted draws cold air in from down below the headlight. Like many others, i have fitted a flexi hose down by the fog-light/grille and routed it up to the cone filter to feed it with more cold air, although i still felt the foam heat shield was restricting the airflow somewhat, so i made a sealed heatshield to make use of the oem cold air feed in the slam panel which seems to have made a noticeable difference. The car feels a little more eager now.

I have the EVOMS fitted to my vRS, amongst Octy owners it seems to be one of the most popular, however people are swaying toward the ITG on the new Tsi engine for some reason!

I also ran a flexi hose from the lower grille insert to improve the volume of cold air, although I've taken care to angle it to avoid water ingress, the last thing you want is hydrostatic lock!!

Thanks guys !

I have tried to search my eyes and ears of what is my favorite intake, it's still hard to decied.

I really like the Forge Twintake, but i think i better like the ITG sound (have read that ITG intake sounds more then Twintake, but it maybe can be better with a Forge DV ?).

But i have one question. Is it possible to make the engine cover fit (after some cutting) with these two intakes, like this ? :

Yep, the pipework rooting for the ITG and EVOMs is the same as the Neuspeed (I think) in the pictures. I was lucky with mine, I got the complete V-Flow system, heat shield, filter housing and replacement engine cover all for £180 delivered, it had only covered 5k.

My advice would be to try and get a spare engine cover from the scrappy and cut that......incidently I have been running without the cover since my cambelt change.

And before anyones says, in know the engine bay is filthy, it will be getting some TLC next weekend.

Thanks !
Will the Twintake-sound be to quiet for me, that's the question ? (With or without Blow off/DV)
I have a Stage 2 map in my car, about 320hp with cat-back system.

I like the Twintake construction better then the ITG (shielded, pipe looking and overal looking) but is concerned that i dont get that swooosh/intake/DV/whistle/spool up/-sound i'm looking for.

Any advise ?

Without any cool air feed (hose connected to the twintake) the twintake sounds like darth Vader and not quit at all so I wouldn't be too worried.
Imho Cone filter sound is a bit to much and will get annying over time.

Mine makes a loud noise when I bury the throttle, but under normal driving conditions I think it's quite tame.

Don't know what the influence of turbo pressure is but mine is stage 2+ and needs a lot of air. But still not as loud as an FR (at lower revs)

The company that tuned my car (some of the best in Sweden) put my turbo pressure up from 0.7 bar to 1.2. Dont know if that make's any differense.

I talked to Awsome-gti earlier today and the said "The Forge twintake is very good but if it was me I personally would go for the ITG air intake. It is the best intake you can get for the 2.0TFSi engines"

Mine boosts at 1.4 max. Apart from what a shop sells I guess everybody has got his own preferences. Personally I would never buy a cone filter again, too much noise and you allways draw more heated air in than with a well designed closed filter (but I tested the dbilas and that was a bit of a dissapointment).

Very similiar to the Evoms but the filter really needs shielding to keep the temperature down.

I run a P-FLo on my FR and the induction sound both inside and outside the car is awesome! Had comments from people saying the woosh as the turbo spools from 1500-1750 sounds immense,

However some guys with the Cupra have had some dodgy MAF readings meaning they don't make as much power, there is a thread somewhere about it

I'm running the ITG Intake :)

Was suppose to be running the EVOMS but due to stock issues from USA i had the ITG fitted as a replacement. Really happy with it.. And sounds awesome

I asked the same Q when i had to decide whether to get the ITG or EVOMS.. See link below for my thread. Had a load of replies about which one and onto performance related debates! :)

How did you made this heatshield ?

I made a template from cardboard first, then cut a sheet of black acrylic plastic to match. I heated part of it with a heat gun to bend it into shape and then bonded the rest together. Finally I added some rubber edge trim to form a seal when the bonnet is closed.

I also added some DEI heat reflective tape to the outside (engine side) of the airbox and on the underside of the metal pipes and heatshield of the ITG intake. My intake air temeratures are consistantly less than 10ºc above ambient temperature, although i do have a THS intercooler fitted which may play a big part in that.

Airbox before being fitted to the car. Appologies for poor picture quality!

you got any more pics? i keep meaning to make one of these also

Affraid not mate, they are all the pictures i took. I would have a bash at making one for your P-flo though, as it does get pretty toasty under that bonnet.
