Hey all,

Considering getting some VMR 710s for my Leon Cupra (MK2).

Cant decide whether to get 18" or 19" ?

Price isnt a problem between them, however Im worried the 18s will look a tad small, on the other hand cant tell if the 19s would look too big ?

Any thoughts, photos etc?

Thanks,

19's are bloody uncomfortable with tiny sidewalls.

I think the car would handle better on 18's and on limit handling would be more progressive break in traction with bigger sidewalls, albeit only marginally. Depends on your reasons for new wheels?

Ive been in a Cupra R before n that wasnt too bad running 19s ?? Or is the chassis set up differently ?

Ive got 19in wheels and came from 17in. Hardly any difference in feel, just dont hit any pot holes. You will have to lower your car or it will look even shiter. Eibach sportlines for a good cheap look. You should lower your car first

I believe the suspension is set up for 19's on the Cupra R.

Think I may give seat a call and ask their advice . Tbh handling doesn't really bother me as I don't drive it hard into corners etc.

What about the speed will 19s slow it up ? I can only assume marginally ?

Not keen on lowering it mate, I like the ride height even on the stock 18s

Doubt you'd notice any speed difference as you'd be changing the tyre profile for 19's so the overall difference will be minimal. More than likely notice a difference with regards to their weight. Lighter the better.

What Leon have you got. Lowering your car is the best mod you can do, ok 2nd mod after remap. 19 in wheels not lowered

I take it your mk2 already has 18s right?
How do u get on with driving on the UKs roads with the 40 profile tyre you already have?
I have 18s as standard and find myself being extra cautious on todays roads what with all the potholes, cracks and speedbumps (i actually now avoid roads that i know have speedbumps)...i guess what im getting at is that the ride is firm now with 40 profile tyres (what are 19s 35?).
If your happy with 18s but must choose a diff set of rims then stick with 18s but if you want the looks then 19 it shall be,but make sure your happy before purchasing as the ride may or may not be just as hard if not harder....hmmmm toughie

I've got 19s and its not really any different from my old 18s.

19s will give you slower acceleration but a faster top end speed through the gears but nothing you would notice.
