That is insane! I managed 40.1 mpg a few weeks back from London to Cambridge (M11 was slow) and I was very smug, normally on a long journey I hit around 38 if I'm lucky.

YEP Thats roadworks for you and average speed cameras.
Never got more than 26 in mine. Did 50 for 17 miles on the M27 and not much more before or after and saw 38 mpg. Better than my wifes 1.4 Corsa.
Mind you it does get errr moved on a bit.

NOT A LOT OF FUN THO!

Wow. That is crazy!

I went to Bristol a few weeks ago and I thought I had done really well to get the MPG below... my previous car was electric so I know how to conserve power. Lol.

Haha as @Polly said, the secret is to have no fun! It was 60 pretty much my whole journey on the M1 and M25 so I thought i'd try eco mode along with driving as carefully as I could!
Sounds mint, when I drive to Bristol i sit at around 68 most of the way (280 miles) and usually get around 40 which im buzzing with haha

Yeah that’s decent for saying you don‘t buy these cars for the mpg.. Personally when I’ve got a long motorway journey I stick it in eco mode and try and coast off the gas as much as possible. Doesn‘t feel as painful when you drive like a lunatic then:roflmao:

I've had 45mpg out of mine a few times. Even at a decent speed on the motorway (80mph+)

The secret is eco mode and lift + coast.
