    Parts identification help

Have you considered tidying up and spraying/powder coating the existing parts?

Leon MK2 FR Stereo Fascia Colour help.

I'd be interested to know this as mine came with a few scratches that will need sanding and spraying, and I want to do the steering wheel insert too as it's worn down.

Rattle over bumpy road - loads of bits already replaced, no joy

Exact same issue with mine, drivers side. It's sounds as if the damper/spring assembly bolts are not tight, allowing the whole thing to knock in the strut tower! Sounds awful from outside the car.

    Boot not opening

I think that's the rear wiper mechanism, the part you are looking for will be the bit that attaches to the catch on the car body that holds the boot closed. Its a relatively small piece, should be the only part visible when the the boot trim is in place.

    Boot not opening

I think it's a similar problem that affects the doors, where the factory lubrication dries up on the internals of the release mechanisms of internal door modules. I'm pretty sure they are fairly cheap and easy to replace the boot modules, but check you are getting power there first.

Mk2 Leon FR CR in South Wales

Hi all, Actually had my first Seat for three months now and have been lurking on the forums since, so thought now was a good time to say hello. I'm from just outside Cardiff and have now noticed quite a few modded and standard Seat's in the area. Mine is a 2010 Leon FR in Candy White, lowered...

What did you and your MK2 do today?

Mines gone in again for third party warranty work on a seized/sticking caliper. Took it to a nationwide auto repair/service chain, gave a list of symptoms all pointing to a caliper seizing (the obvious one being the one wheel coated in brake dust and dust being in the door shuts and sills on the...

Leon FR 2.0 TDi Mk2 caliper sliders

I found a YouTube vid and the guy removed the caliper sliders with a hex key, they wouldn't budge using my normal Allan keys, so went out and bought 7mm hex bit. Pissed down all afternoon so have not tried it, but the Allan key seemed to fit well. They seem solid when trying to turn them.

Leon FR 2.0 TDi Mk2 caliper sliders

    Loss of coolant

Mine went in for some new tyres, and the fitter said he noticed it up on the ramps and it looks as if its coming from the EGR valve area

Leon FR 2.0 TDi Mk2 caliper sliders

Have been noticing an occasional build up of brake dust on the front passenger alloy, and yesterday my girlfriend rang me in panic as the wheel was very hot and and she could smell them burning after a short drive on the motorway. As we've only had the car a few months, this is the first time...

    Loss of coolant

Mine empties its coolant in about 3 days of driving (20 - 30 miles a day), its not burning it or mixing with the engine oil, and when parked overnight, theres a fresh puddle under the right hand side of the engine bay. It looks as if its coming from below the throttle body at the rear of the...
