Well then boys and girls....

had it fitted at mid vw today! Jody told me, why did u get that... i can do it with software! hehehe! anyway i had it fitted any how as i had it in my hand and it was easier...so theres something interesting for you electro boffins to work out... and it wasn't using vag.com another piece of software!

Anyway.....what can i say...its weird.... car doesn't feel quicker...its revs quicker....but of course theres still turbo lag etc......its a real hard one to explain...

the throttle is twitcher...you have to be a lot more careful with it......its more sensitive.....i think i like it, but just need to get use to it...ont rounabouts, ur up at 6000RPM before u can get off the roundabout...

any way i will continue to test and see how things go and let you know what i think!

Aye in the mapping process the throttle postition to throttle opening can be played with, this might be what some cheap skate mappers change to make the car feel quicker;)

yeah do it after repairs so you know ur car is running ok...

im kinda getting use to it at the mo, im not sure i do like it at the mo...

its very sensitive now the pedal, ultra sensitive and its revs loads and loads...it does make it feel quicker but it doesn't......it just revs faster and freerer.....

more testing to be done......shall keep it on for the mo!

Good, Good, well my turbo started to scream, turns out my forge dv split and the rubber appears to have gone through the blades, 2 bent but turbo still pulling boost so Jim wouldnt even let me try the booster until thats sorted.

Oo'er.. I can't believe I missed this thread.

One of my major gripes of DBW cars is the slightly walloy response from the electronic throttle. I miss that about my XR2/RST.

I'm going to take a serious look at this module.

Ta for the heads up!

We tried one of these on our skoda vrs and it made the car dangerous to drive you only had to touch the throttle and it went down the road spinning the wheels etc!
Custom-code software turns up the pedal responce up anyway which is why the car drove like that,we would sell them to someone with a n/a car but not to a customer with a mapped vag group car as it make the cars drive very erratically and in our expierience quite dangerous! Still if you dont have custom-code software on the car they might be ok,cant really say.......

Was at Star today to get suspected clutch/brake fluid leak checked and there are no obvious issues, WHEW!!

Any hoo, Jim said I'm away to fit something to your car, I'm not telling you what it is but drive it and see what you think.
Anyway five minutes later Brian had the car waiting out side running for me. As soon as I pulled off there was instantly a difference in throttle response (or thats what I took it that it was) and spun the wheels a bit in first and second.
Feeling that this was different I took it slowly for a start then hammered it.
There was definately a big difference in how quickly the car climbed through the revs from low down all the way to the red line.
Also noticed the car aloud me to accelerate harder when cornering ( which it didn't do before). This seems to have reduced what I took to be turbo lag higher up in the revs also.
For the price to effectiveness ratio i would say its is very good.
The only point is that you have to be a bit more careful about how you boot your car a it does accelerate harder and faster than your used to, but much more fun.
There will be sceptics out there who 'over annalize' this, and try to work out what it does (which is understandable) but I can say I'm very happy.
I was given the opperunity for it to be removed but was happy for it to stay fitted and pay £165 + vat for it.
Top marks to Jim at Star again, top job!!

With reviews like these, im personally interpreting this to be a performance booster. If your climbing through the revs quicker, your car is quicker. Simple as!

Revs are proportional to your speed, unless of course your clutch is slipping, but if your revving more freely, your going up the speedo more freely.

In comparison other people say it just increase throttle response with no effect on performance.

Hard to decipher between the 2 opinions really as its like saying black is white and white is black.

Or thats the way im reading these reviews:happy:

yeah i ve got CC!!!

i think i might have mine taken off!!! it is quite sensitive!!!

so with a stage 1 has that been changed on my map? the sensitivity?

Yeas with all custom-code software the dbw settings are changed to enhance the driving expierence....

This module cannot incease the performance of the car! All it does is make 1/3 throttle like 2/3 so it gives the illusion that the car is responding better, however if you just put your foot down it will have the same effect.
Im not a fan of these on vag dbw turbo cars but as i have already said i havnt tried them on n/a or indeed other makes of cars.......

not the news i wanted to hear! :(

like I said i am/was planning to order one of these in the next few weeks!

I have a jabba map, so i dont suppose if you know whether they adjust the redal responce also when mapping?!

I guess the best way for me to find out is to call them lol

or can i find out by using vag com or even customsettings.exe ???
