Well all starts back in september 2008 when i picked this little beauty up from Bournemouth Seat with 9k on the clock and for £8995 it was mine with two previous owners, one being Seat.
Was going to do the usual re-map etc then as per usual bi the bug like most of my other previous cars, here are the pics!

Stayed like this for a couple of months then the mods came along;
First came was the re-map and with so many companies out there it was hard to choose one but after many talks i had Mark at SWICT carry it out along with a trip to Powerstation for a trip on the rollers. Put the car on the rollers to see standard power and that came back at 183bhp, then was the re-map, green cotton panel filter and the forge 007dv this then produced 211 bhp and 209 lbf.ft

Thats where the power bug started to come from. Then i said like everybody else does.......not going to do any more to it......next came the uprated disks and pads, 312mm cross drilled up front with Ap racing pads and cross drilled disks at the rear with green stuff pads. To help with vision 6000k H.I.D's were installed along with 6000k 501 sidelights.

Popped along to the GTi Spring fest up at Santa Pod and had a couple of blasts down the 1/4 mile, posting a best time of 14.7s @ a terminal speed of 92 mph which i was rather happy with.

After this came a bargain from SeatCupra.net the nomad double a pillar pod in black, retail around £90 and got it for £45 posted, so then Mark installed this along with a boost and oil temp gauge.

Had a bit of snow and then was stuck on my estate so help came in the way of Western Powers unimog, that did the trick lol

Back to the engine bay and i purchased a forge TIP and a power gasket to help keep the inlet temps down and was well worth the £50 as there is a massive difference! Cheers Jas for the drive-way fitting lol, did both in hour and a half. Next came the Jetex cone filter and a Seat Sport strut brace.

SWICT then held a rolling road day so here was my chance to see if the latest mods had improved the power, i was first on and had a poor run of 213bhp so it was decided that i would run at the end of the day agian when it was colder, changed the n75 valve for a 'c' this time and then it produced 224 bhp and 249 lbf.ft which did put a smile on my face.

Bought some 15mm hubcentric spacers of Gaz (cheers mate) so fitted them with Jas-tdi.

Some nice mods there, those brake discs look the business. Can i ask who fitted them? and how much? Or did you do yourself?

I fancy some coilovers myself, those look cracking for the price i can find on the net? How are you finding them compared with stock in terms of ride? Silly question, but how do you adjust them?

Hows the ride with the coilovers then mate? Its surely more comfy than mine. You'll have to take me for a spin next time we meet up.

Oh, and it looks like it needs a good wash too lol

Kahn i fitted them myself and they are not as hard to do as they look, its simply a matter of removing two bolts on the front then hitting out the retaining pins that hold the pads in, unbolt the disk by a little screw and refit in same way, as for the rear remove the caliper again with two bolts, wind the pistons back in, unbolt old disk and refit new!! I paid £350 for all new disks and pads but got a bit of discount on them from a mate.
Coilovers i paid just shy of £480 for them and they are really simple to adjust, to adjust the height is a case of undoing the two locking nuts on the shock then spinning the nuts up for higher or down for lower not forgetting to just pinch them up after, damping is done by a little know that attaches to the top of the struts.

Rich they are probably just as bad as yours mate, got them on the hardest setting and they shake the fillings outta your teeth, may see what the other settings are like but broke the damping knob!!!!
Your right it does need a clean too, even worse now since those pictures were taken!!
Hopefully will be at next meet unless i am working.

Looks great after the drop :)

What I hate about my FK coilovers is that you have to remove the rear struts to adjust the dampening. I don't think I can even count the amount of times that I've removed them! When you get the dampening set to the right level the ride comfort is ok.

Yeh, it's a pain in the ass adjusting the rears. I set mine nearly as soft as poss to try and make the ride softer, but it made no difference. If I want a softer ride, I'll need softer springs. I should really firm them back up to match the fronts a bit better, but I just can't be bothered.

Barn, you got the adjuster cups still in?

I've got mine set to level 3 front and rear (Konigsports) and the ride is ok. I removed the rubber washers from my front dampers and that made a massive difference

Rich I have no adjuster cups in the back of mine either, they are sat in the garage looking pretty lol.
Cupra.al I did think about putting a mk1 tt interior in but not sure how much work it is to fit and that's if they fit. After tyres and headunit would probably be an exhaust system or re-locate the battery to the boot and then make a shield for the filter to help with getting colder air into the old girls lungs!

Yeah I am really pleased with them but may try to soften them up abut on the damping side of things but gonna hav to get another damping knob from somewhere as mine broke when adjusting the fronts prior to putting them on.
Damian have looked at yours before and must say what a car!

Just read last couple of pages on yours and from what I can pick out you were loosing boost yeah? On mine when on the rollers at about 3000rpm the boost almost looks as if it drops off then picks back up again, have you any ideas as to why. May help if I put up a picture of my graph tomorro on the scanner. Does this quite regulary, notice it more now due to having a boost gauge in the car

Yea, a pic of your graph might help mate.

My problem was/is a leaking gasket between turbo and mani.. Will hopefully get some time to fix it properly in the next few weeks.
