Resetting Servicing Indicator

I did this on a Toledo V5 with the VAG-COM tool from
www.ross-tech.com
For anybodys info it's:
Instrumentation -> Channel 2 -> Stored Value 1
-> change this to 0
Wey hey, no service indicator!

try this instead , you were close

(from memory)

turn on key to LIGHTS

press trip in AND HOLD

still holding turn key off

then back on to lights on

release then turn to right

and hold intil you see SERVICE in screen ~(approx 5 secs)

should then be reset

Yeah, that sounds easier than rigging up a laptop!

Germans,... they have such a bizzare sense of humour. I wonder how many beers they'd consumed when they came up with that one....

it is bizarre it sounded like using cheats on a playstation
game,something you would expect the japs to do.

then again helping mom figure out the AEG washing machine
and dishwasher amazed me to find out how many uses
can be achived with only one button...and non are in the manual!!

so me thinks what happens if you dont turn it clockwise
and go other way??.....

go gadget go.....

and arn't you suppose to service the car when that light is on??
or can it come on whenever??

Aunt Sally gave me my thick head by mistake this mornin'.....so can I check exactly what you mean please?

turn on key to LIGHTS
turn ignition key 'til all check lights come on?

press trip in AND HOLD
gotcha

still holding turn key off
gotcha

then back on to lights on
with trip button still pushed in, turn ignition 'til check lights come on again?

release then turn to right
release trip button, then turn trip button to the right

and hold intil you see SERVICE in screen ~(approx 5 secs)
and hold in trip button 'til you see service in screen


should then be reset
after you've rubbed your tummy whilst patting your head and opened the golve box with the big toe of your left foot

About the service indicator

Hi all,

I understand how to reset it, but can't it be set to come on at a specific mileage? e.g. At 5000 miles. As soon as you reach 5000 miles the "SERVICE" light will come on right?

It says that when you do all of this you'll get 0000 with the first zero flashing.

What do you then need to do to put for example 5.500 km's in?

Just tried this and it worked!

Although befiore i managed it it changed something i shouldn't have!!

My mileage and trip distance use to disapear when the keys were removed now it just stays there all the time!! not a big problem i know but how can i reverse it???

as far as i was aware they were on all the time anyway

my one turned itself off when the keys were out.

Wonder if this will work on a V5 Toledo? My service reminder has come on and I want to clear it. Well will give it a go tonight.
