Right fitted mine yesterday and have notice it being alot tighter without question.

However when i turn in fast flicking the wheel it seems that the rear end takes a few milli seconds to react to front. Feels a bit unatural.

Was wondering if guys that have fitted this notice anything of the like?

Yep I have this is why I'm fitting the S3 strut brace hoping it would help?

Do you already have this??

If it doesn't help then maybe upping the front ARB to 22mm (Golf R32 if it fits?) we don;t want too much understeer though??

Yes i have the s3 brace already.

Hmmmmmm i posted hoping you would post saying that you dont have it so i could justify coilovers :)

I dont think the front arb will make a difference tbh.

You tried adjusting the bar softer?

My thinking is the bar is too tight and causes the bushes to flex to much so causeing a delay in action.

Also i think that the stiffer the bar the less grip.

Oh can you actually hear it gripping? Cause i can.

Hear it gripping ?

I'm talking about slightly reduced feel or slight delay in turn-in nothing serious, my car corners very flat no noises.

In my opinion it was just the front end needs tightening up to compensate for the rear.

Think its the tyres as i got 2 new ones on the back yesterday same time i got the arb fitted.

Yip just less feel and delayed turn in i guess.

I think i should of got a 25mm bar instead. Think 28 might be to much.

Trying to get a price for the 22mm front R32 arb + fittings

Dunno if it will fit yet tho.

Here the parts:

1 x 1J0 411 305 AF 'STABILIZER front

2 x 1J0 411 336 D 'CLIP

2 x 1J0 411 314 T 'RUBBER MNT

2 x N 101 016 03 'BOLT

Edited: around £85

I get an amount of vagueness in a straight line, but I haven't noticed it on turn in (25mm bar on middle setting).

I wonder if we can find out what the different bar/setting combs give in terms of stiffness...

But a lower brace isn't the same as an arb

No I realise that what I mean is that the arse end is the only thing on an LCR that felt like it rolled too much. So I added the rear ARB.

To stiffen the front we have three options
Upper Strut Brace
Lower Strut Brace
Front ARB

Without the resources available to VAG I have to make do with trial and error ;)

Little by little

"I can't imagine
how unstable it would be if i were to put the stock front swaybar back
on (which would be something like 17mm front and 28mm rear) I'm
positive my car would be terribly unstable and tail-happy with a setup
like that and that's why i disagree with the Shine method. I believe in the
hands of inexperienced drivers it can be downright dangerous."

"The Neuspeed Bilstein kit was the very best combination i'd used on the
street, with the smaller 22front / 25mm rear swaybars it was a good
compromise between performance and ride comfort. Upgrading to the
larger swaybar set (25fr / 28rr) turned the car into an aggressive
canyon chaser while still maintaining a tolerable ride on the highway."

Good article

Sounds like the Front ARB could be a good move then for me with my Bilstein and Neuspeed set up

It is all written based on mk2 golf type platform but makes for useful reading

I think the same principles could apply to many front engined front drive cars. He talks about the front being the cause of most roll

Agreed it's on the Mk2 Golf which more than anything else is lighter, but if this applies to the Mk2 Golf then 'similar' priciples 'should' apply.

Think I will try and see if the Golf R32 22mm front ARB does fit on the LCR (as rumoured) if not then i'll buy a Neuspeed 25mm for the MK1V Golf.

Glad I haven't rushed things and personally I find it interesting to see the difference as I go along.......
