Hi

Thinking about buying a ex-demo from SEAT, it's a grey Leon 1.2 S Trim with 4k miles first registered in Sept 2013 - does that seem a fair price to you guys?

It has front fogs and alloys which would make it list price of £16,000, so not sure 30% is such a great discount for an ex-demo

Thanks!

Can't comment on price but I wouldn't buy an S model as they are more difficult to shift later on. SE's are very common.

What is the reason for the imminent drop in prices?

Got him down to £10,900 now which seems like a decent price according to Auto Trader, it was priced at £11,850 on the forecourt.

That's how dealers work mate.

My car was on forecourt for £16k, we got it for just over £14k.

I'd just say £10500 or walk away. You want a significant discount on the new price to make it worth you taking an older car.

£12750 new would be great - but where could I get new for that price?

I checked car CarWow and they best qoute I got was £800 off list price of £16,250.

Thanks for the help

Could also be an ex hire car, possibly Channel islands. Saw a few of these at dealers we got R from, 'one careful owner' not an issue as long as you are aware.

Yeah my first leon was a 2010/60 1.2tsi. We were told it was 'an ex seat car we got as a job lot from them'. When we got the log book it was previously owned by europcar...

Personally I'd take the advice from the guys above and get an SE or FR rather than the S spec. You'll find the S to have worse residuals due to lack of equipment. Either wait until you can get an SE or spend a little extra and get it :)

If you don't send the salesman to his sales manager at least a couple of times while negotiating on price, you haven't done your job properly!
