I've just asked a Spanish lady I work with. She says that there is no such word as Cupra in the Spanish language. Go figure :shrug:.

If Cupra stands for Cup Racing, and Cupra R is Cup Racing Racing... it looks stupid, but it isn't the first time this sort of thing is used....

How often do you say PIN Number as apposed to PIN?

PIN Number = Personal Identification Number Number...

It's safer to pleed ignorance on these things I think :p

could the r mean rare? remember the r came out in 2002 and they only made a limited amount. also remembering at the time it was also the fastest standard hatchback.

IIRC a Honda Fireblade was actually a CBR900RR. The RR stood for Race Replica. So Cupra R could stand for Cup Racing Replica. :shrug:

All the Seat cars (apart from the Exeo) are named after Spannish places.
