Sounds like the familiar noise of a failing chain/ tensioner I'm afraid. As you've only had it a month I'd suggest going back to the dealer purchased from. Not a cheap fix unfortunately

After the first 2 - 3 seconds it's sounds fine and drives perfectly, no issues at all, good fuel economy and performance

Have a search on YouTube for similar videos. I'm sure there are worse sounding tsi's. It sounds a bit whiney over a normal noisy tsi

It doesn't sound bad to me? Sure its not just with it being chain driven its taking a few seconds for the oil to flow round and reach the components, hence the slightly louder noise dying away after 2 seconds? At the end of the day, the oil can't be everywhere within a split second of turning the key if its all drained into the sump overnight.

Good good,! They're always going to sound louder and more metallic than a belt driven engine, but at the end of the day its a hell of alot more robust than a belt also! People get far too worried about chain driven engines, but the service interval is more than double that of a timing belt which obviously says something. I've owned two cars previous to my current that have been chain driven and I've never had a problem at all! Just make sure you check and change the oil regularly and you'll be fine.
