1.8 TSI SC FR - suspension question

I've just checked and it's possible to put five fingers between the top of the tyre and start of the arch (both front and rear). That's four fingers and another finger from the other hand placed on top. What are your thoughts guys?
Ah, ok, thanks. I don't have a measuring tape but can ask around. What are your thoughts on the newly surfaced handling characteristics?

Yours sounds like a nice e.g. Mr Pig. Yes, I knew that the 1.8 TSI and higher of the 2.0 litres uses an independent rear suspension. Shame on the bean counters at Seat: in the Golf MK7 the 138 bhp 1.4 petrol and above uses a rear multi link arrangement.

From the front arch down to the edge of the alloy wheel, NOT the tyre, is pretty much bang on 11cm.

To the tyre is about 40mm but it's harder to tell.

Would it be possible to come up your way (if not too far). That way you can assess my car and see what I mean. Where are you based?

Are you saying it's three fingers width from the top of the tyre to the start of the arch?

Yes. I'm miles away from everyone! Why not go to a dealers, they'll have loads of cars you can look at.

Getting silly. Your fingers look similar to mine but last I checked, fingers were not a standard unit of measurement. I just mentioned it as I happened to know it. Get the tape measure out.

Am based in Borehamwood, Herts. Where are you located Mr Pig and other forumers?

You can get to my house in an hour and a half, if you have an airplane! You want to bring your car it's nearly 400 miles...

They are actually really small, hence the mention as it could be a factor. Nonetheless, will get a tape measure.
