Im going to 1.9 on my car. Ive also done quite a few on other cars. You need to remove the engine and bore the block out to 82.5 or very max 83mm. You will need larger pistons and may as well do rods too.

Pistons are about £600
Rods are £300
Rebore about £200
Gaskets bearings oil pump etc about £300
Fitting price depends on tuner but dont expect change from 1k.

Buy a spare big port head engine, then bore that to 1.9 with decent pistons and rods etc renewing everything as you go. Then buy an equal length Mani and a big turbo. Then once you've done all that youve got a car that needs a better clutch and a LSD. And youv'e spent all this money on a road car that is now fairly unusable to its full potential on the road. Just have done with your GT2x unless your gonna turn your car into a track weapon or drag strip tool.

i did a 1.9 in mine, only reason tho is not long after i bought it i melted a piston, that scored the bore so i stripped the engine had it bored out and fully rebuilt it with wosser pistons!

gt2x and 1900 is a waste of time/money imho.. unless you plan on fitting a proper BT at later date, or have bore damage so rebuild is req'd anyhow.

are there many benefits to it ,isnt it easier cheaper and better to uprate the turbo with a new map ? im no pro on seats but this seems more sensible to me

i would say the only benefit really is when you bore it out you uprate the internals so they are stronger so its better for running bigger power
