Hi guys,
Am looking to purchase a new Cupra in the new year and came across www.motorpoint.co.uk who have 10 inferi black leon cupra's with delivery mileage all at £17 k.

I am assuming they are UK spec imports and as such I would be unable to spec bluetooth etc but at 17k they are a good price.

Has anyone had any dealings with this company and is there anything I should look out for on an import if thats what they are ?
Alan.

Alan,

You might come across my previous comments, but I wouldn't even be sure they are 100% U.K spec. I'd check every feature to make sure.

£3K is a big saving, but the car will be worth less at resale time and insurance might be more tricky.

I priced up a Golf GTi and that was actually an import from Holland. Still RHD though.

my old man bought a laguna from them a few years ago (dont ask why lol ) It was an import from Holland, claiming to have full Renault warranty etc etc. He had a problem ( suprise suprise) and the local Renault dealer wouldn't touch it. When he eventually came to sell it, the garage he was px'ing it for did not want to buy it as its an import.

I think that 3k is not to be sniffed at, but do you want the hassle when you come to sell it?

Just had a look at the Cupras they have on there and I'm pretty sure the one they reckon is Black Magic is actually Inferi Black (the one with the photos)

As I say when I rang and enquired about a Golf GTi they couldn't even tell me if it had an alarm (which was standard on a U.K spec GTi).

If you are keeping the car for a long long time and prepared to live with limited warranty then they are worth a look.

Motorpoint apparently give no aftersales backup and main dealers can be fussy about warranty work, although I believe main dealers have to fix faults with an import for the first 12 months.

You need to add delivery to your 'local' motorpoint depot and preparation costs onto that price (unless you are prepared to go wherever the car is to collect and clean it yourself). You could also get a lot less when you come to sell it, which soon eats into the £3000 saving.
