I am lowering my car 40mm on lowering springs and want to get some wheels.
I have seen a set of 18" wheels but was ondering if they will rub or cause problems or will they be ok????
Cheers Josh

eighteens may be a bit big, i have 17" wheels lowered about 50mm on coilovers and its pretty tight at the moment... 18" i am sure would rub..

coilovers are a problem with 18s but do fit, i run a 45mm offset rather than 35 and use 20mm spacers on the front to clear the suspension. no matter what though you will get some scraping with 18s but thats the price you have to pay....for me its worth it, think my pics say it all really

I totally agree.

Eveyone has a different taste. I think the 18's look really good with your car expecially with it lowered so much. However I personally would not 18's for my car. 17 and drop it...

but thats me again

i put 17s on it when i first bought it with coilovers lowered 75mm but they didn't fill the arches enough for me so swapped to 18s with same 75mm drop (avatar pic) and then i've just changed to another set of 18s and some new coilovers and wound it down some more (sig pic) and its just about perfect now. Just need to roll the rear arches and get some 15mm spacers on and i'm sorted

It is not a case of wanting 18's it is the fact that i can get 18" mille miglia HT3's with four almost new tyres for £250 and they are in mint condition and are PCD 4X100 ET 35.
I wanted 17's but i would save a fortune on these 18" ones but if it is going to scrape then there is no point!!!!

i had 18s on my cupra as well as 15s,16s and now 17s the 18s were terrible it used to rub on full lock and with people in the back and they were 7.5 inch wide had 2 buy 2 new wheels as the profile of the tyre was very low 35mm and cracked the wheels and im back to 17s now with around 75mm lowered all round the car handles much better with the 205 40s on and have had no rubbin issues but ive got my hands on an arch rollin tool now so i can possibly go another 20mm hopefully

thats how it should be! If you can see tyre its not low enough in my opinion, everyones different though

how on earth do you go around corners with that. your front arches must take a hell of a beating... im running 16's, and im lowered a fair bit and i just miss scrubbing the tyres when im goign around roundabouts at 50.. bumpy roads and corners also make things scrub....
here is how low mine is...
