Hi there,
I was recommended that I come here after posting this on PistonHeads,
My mum owns a 2012 Seat Leon 2.0 TDI CR which has covered 12,000 miles from new and has always been serviced by Seat main dealers.
Christmas 2013, the car made a horrendous noise on start-up which went away after approx. 1 minute of running. I managed to record it as a video on my mobile phone. We called the supplying dealer as soon as possible and booked it in for them to investigate the noise. They could not fault the car.
In March 2014, the noise occurred again and it went back to the dealer for them to investigate the noise again. They had the car for a few days and supplied my Mum with a Loan Car FOC. They still could not fault the car. The car also had it's first service (on LongLife intervals) at this time.
At this time, they sent the video recording of the noise to Seat UK and according to the dealer, Seat UK are unsure of what could be causing the noise.
We have just got the car back again (June 2014) for them to try and find the fault again. They could not fault it again.
My Mum spent a lot of money on purchasing the car and is getting concerned of what causes the noise, and if anything goes wrong out of money, she is worried that she will end up picking up the bill despite the car being looked at by the dealer within warranty.
She loves the car to pieces (as she has always wanted one) but wants the noise to be sorted.
What would you say the next thing to do was? We have considered contacting Seat UK themselves and voicing our concerns and find out what happens next.
I managed to video the noise and have posted it on YouTube;
I was wondering if this was a common issue or if anyone has heard this noise before on a 2.0 TDI CR 140?
Many thanks, Josh
