2.3 v5 20v real mpg?

Hi just wondering what my car is meant to do mpg wise as u look om autotrader spec and it says 44mpg combined lol which I think is very optimistic , mines never got anywhere near that anyway lol so what mpg does everyone get from there 2.3 v5 20v ? Im getting about 21mpg average in my 2001 toledo v5 20v ( thats working it out by brimming the tank and then filling it when the fuel light comes on to work out how much ive done ) my last tank I got 21.5 mpg

Around town i'd be seeing 28ish, on the motorway cruising along I'd quite happily get around 42-43mpg

U got a toledo too and how's that driving I mean do u drive slow . I normally change gear about 2500 to 3000rpm . Mine must be getting less than it should then

On the display mine was saying 19.5 mpg on last tank but it really did 21mpg . But I used to get 27mpg average . Just checked o2 sensor s with vag com and all readings are fine

I do give it some stick now and again but not that often as got the kids in the car most the time. My handbrake is sticking abit as u can hear it make a noise when u reverse after taking handbrake off . Ive got some helper springs to fit . Dont think it's sticking that bad tho to cause a drop of 6 mpg from what I used to get . I got 27 mpg average when I first got it

And thw car has been serviced regularly . . Last service was done just before I had it and ive done 5k in it so ill service it again in 1k . Do my cars every 6k

I get 28mpg. Mixed driving.
On the dash display that is.

Goes up to about 37 on the motorway.


Pretty poor really.

according to the trip computer I get 25 mpg around town, 38 mpg on a good run, and 42 mpg if I'm doing 60 with cruise control.

Average high 30s on a motorway run but day to day driving get about 35
