Hi peoples my exhaust back box is blowing and i need to replace it. Does anyone know what diameter the pipe is? Been quoted 450 + for a new exhaust ( nearly died) so im guna replace the back box only if i can

Hello Jon,

Engine code CFHD for 2.0 TDi with 143BHP from mid/late 2010 onwards.

Your exhaust diameter is possibly 50mm or 54mm but with out being able to measure it in person I can't be 100%

I've had a look on the SEAT Etka parts site, and it list's two different sized exhaust joining clamp sleeves, and a choice on the exhaust rear silencer.

Sounds like you've been quoted for the full system from tail pipe to base of particulate filter. You should be able to just purchase the rear silencer on it's own, if it's that which has blown.
You'll need to probably cut the old rear silencer off, and purchase a new joining clamp sleeve, to be able to join the new rear silencer to the centre section so to speak.

I've also attached a photo of the page from the Etka site, which shows the rough shape of the rear silencer, I think yours is number (5)
