Is it just to route the wire? If so, I just used a trim tool to lift it to save the hassle of removing it. If you really need to remove the whole thing, prise the tab off with a screwdriver and there's a screw underneath. It does pull off, but the clips are really tight and it's quite fiddly to get back on.
Also... the logo that says airbag, isn't where the airbag is. Otherwise in an accident you'd have an a-pillar in the face.
