Hi there im new here and having some problems with my car i have got a set of the FK coilovers and i lowered my car so much that it constantly hits the driveshaft.

I have seen that i could get a roll bar of an audi tt mk1 to fit my car and this goes under the driveshaft and it will fix my problem but will it fit i need help as some people say the bar is not wide enough and some say the quattro one is diffrent to but will it still fit many thanks

Hey,

LC = Leon Cupra

LCR = Cupra R

They have slightly different set ups, the LC has an ARB that hoops over the drive shafts and connects to the wishbones (i think)

LCR has an ARB that goes under the drive shafts and bolts to the coilovers.

On my car I have an ARB that hoops over the driveshaft currently but the only way to get it to stop rubbing is the under and I have seen people get a big loop ARB but they are like £170 and that’s to much right now anyways.

I watched something where the person just took it to a garage and they swapped it for the TT one and he said it solved all his problems.

Also mine is a 1.6 16v does that make any difference?

yes the Cupra R has different wishbones and ARB set up,(under the driveshaft) im not sure about 1.6's but we have the same kinda set up ( i have an LC), and ill have the same issue soon, so im getting Cupra R coilovers (for the ARB mount) and any ARb from a TT, S3 or whatever fits. The big hoop ones seem like a niche and a PITA.

Give Damien @ DPM a message buddy, he should be able to let you know whats possible with your FK coilies. ( idunno if they have the ARB mount you'd need)

yeah they are really expensive so what your saying is I need the mount point on the actual Coilovers to be able to have the TT mk1 ARB.

but I saw someone with a golf mk4 and it looked like it just goes in exactly the same place and connects to the drop links on the wishbone I already have adjustable drop links but from what your telling me I need the mount points to be on the coilovers

also I will give him a text is it just dpm performance?? Many thanks

Yes thats what ive been led to believe. Its possible im wrong, im hoping if i am someone will correct me. Ive not seen the golf so cant comment, im really just learning myself.

But my next purchase is coilovers and what im doing with LCR coilovers should eliminate this issue. I was advised to do this by DPM and my local VAG garage. And he's on here so you should able to PM him, check for DPM in the sponsor section.

Glad to help mate. As I said I’m still learning, but this is something I’ve looked into so figured I might be able to help!
