I dunno what you're all arguing about, but my 1.6 looks the nuts as standard. In the end, is that not what's important? ;)

DONT put a cupra R badge on the back of your leon!! Because one day you'll come across a real LCR and it'll smoke you!!

We cruise to the next roundabout and im behind him and i see the Cupra R badge on the left hand side of boot denoting LCR210. But then i spy the small TDI badge on the right hand side!!

I felt robbed.

Anyway if your(tdi guy) reading this mate. Your car was looking tip top nice and shiny unlike mine.:D

Where were you?

I have a black TDi Cupra, I'd never put the R on it's just silly, but I have removed the red TDi letters, nothing to brag about is it!

Also did someone mention a remap would make my TDi similar speed to a standard LCR?

Well this is a tough subject to many Cupra R owners and TD i owners...

Yes the TDI will be near 200bhp and with the torque it delivers, it can keep with a Standard LCR.., but there are two proviso with that... your comparing modified with standard, and also your still be down on suspension set up, brakes, and wheels and etc and etc...

Thats without touching the fact, the moment you wanna chase LCR, your looking at an aggressive map, that means a replacement upgrade clutch to with stand the torque hike and then a short shifter helps to reduce the gear shift times to help with the missing rev range...

I mean its endless but you can do it...

I mean i have a friend that owns a RX8, and well we had a little race to see if it all claimed up to be (on a private road of coarse) and well even thou he has a 10k rev range (double what i have), rear wheel drive we where side by side all the way... so a TDI can do it.. but then i have Eibach coilovers, upper and lower struts, Sach clutch, aggressive AMD remap, ATB Quaife Diff, 8.5" tyres and 312mm brakes, (soon to be upgraded to 6 pot Porka calipers)...
So alot of money to get me to that point... but as its been said before, its unique, plus i love the shocked faces of people in petrols when they go to look in there rear view mirror for me, and I'm beside them still!! :cartman:

It certainly shows commitment and also what exactly can be done..

I must admit ( and punish me if you must) but I think there would only be so far I would go in terms of additional financial resources in uprating a car for it's performance..

then I would have to consider just going and buying something faster....

I can see your point but you must also consider, for years other than a Porsche 911 Turbo the Leon has been the car I find the most gorgeous, so until I can afford a 911, or something more beautiful comes my way....

Punish you? hmmmm... (stop it!)

No i totally agree, i mean i could have brought a another car with the money i have spent, but sometimes i find unique better than off the shelf car... but yes, i would buy my next car, but £70k is hard to come by, but i will get it in the end I'm sure, if i've used near 30k on a car now, give me by 28 I'll have my R8... or RS4....[B)]

As for punishment Shade... "Over my knee you go" lol

Fair point....

I still think that the Leon has something about it design wise that for me always made it stand out against some of the other standard fare available..

and even after three years of having her in the family, and despite me toying and looking at other cars.. at the end of her warrenty period.. I couldn't bring myself to part with her...

So I am sure to be picking all your brains cos she needs to be stealthified.. ( as much as you can do with an Ovni car)

N.B ..Just make sure the punishment fits the crime... ;)

I'm wanting to put a Cupra badge on my front grill but don't want to spend £12 on ebay!

Punishment and fitting crime...? Well you mentioned some pretty big words, but I don't have anything big to beat you with...

and Ovni can be stealthy... if I remove all the badges who will know that she is not a 1.6 s with Cupra bumpers....

No mods so far.. as I said she is only just out of warranty...

But there is a plan, and the first part of it will be ordered within the next couple of weeks.......
