If im totally honest I doubt at service time they'd even notice this unless they undo the box, the car is loud anyway when reving so a little louder probably wont get noticed, unless there thrashing it..

Your best taking ure revo filter out before it goes in for a service. Sods law that the main dealers would have thrown the performance filter & replaced it with a standard one when servicing the car.[:@]

Just curious,
As the air filter on the 1.4 petrol is the same part number as the 1.6 tdi,
has anyone fitted one the the oil burners yet?
If so, what results?

Thanks

just out of interest 2 cupras...well 1 cupra 1 boc at crail the standard air filters best time was 14.724, revo air filter was 14.592. the revo cupra was also running the heavier racing brakes and a spoiler.

take from this what u will it was no scientific test but interesting results

Depends what your looking for, I not looking at remapping my car atm so a replacement airfilter was the right choice for me, sounds a bit better and slightly more free reving in the high rpm, as to get the best out of a forge or itg kit the car should be mapped to use all that extra air provided.

So its really a personal choice, I will get an induction kit and revo one day but I tour my car in europe and I cant be bothered with an ECU light coming on in Spain and the spanish dealers being like donda esta la standard air box.

i am in the same boat rossers. so you went for the K&N - that one doesnt require all that maintenance right whereas from earlier posts the revo and pipercross would?

i went for REVO as the K and N was out of stock when I ordered.....plus looking at service rota air filters only get replaced every 20000 miles

But the k and N still requires maintainance it is just reusable after the maintainance.....I had a k and N on my old fiesta did 46000 miles without any probs

personally i would say not... loads of people use these sorts of feeds on standard cars... BUT for the max gains a map would be best to make the most of that extra air... its the same with the exhaust, can have it but to get the most out of it the map would need to be tweaked!

i agree for the induction kit can be used without a map but £150+ for a better noise is pretty pricey....but for the exhaust if u get the down pipe size increased you NEED the stage 2 map otherwise boost pressures can spike resulting in problems
