Airtec intercooler

Helped fitting my mates airtec intercooler on his 2001 s3 ... What a nightmare it was , cut this cut that , remove this remove that ... Instructions were ok but you half to remove alot more and cut alot more then instructions state .... And also the new intercooler is massive , only the lower half of intercooler is truly exposed to the air flow , does it really need to be that big ... Any one used these kits before

I'm sure Airtec have done a bit more research than you or I.
The reason it's so big I would imagine is to make it future proof for mods ie hybrid/big turbo etc. if you're just planning a basic stage 1 then it's probably no use at all but would be required more the further you go tuning wise.

I have an airtec and it wasn't that bad....Only had to cut two bits off & that was that. Maybe different instructions for the S3 than the cupra r!!
